As we continue to grow and evolve the category across Great Britain & Ireland, we are seeking an exceptional Senior Category Manager to define category strategy, drive commercial performance and deliver market-leading customer experiences.\nThe Role\nThe Senior Category Manager - Floorcare is responsible for leading the category strategy, commercial performance and market development of Dyson’s Floorcare portfolio across GB&I.\nAs Dyson’s largest category in GB&I and a significant driver of revenue, profitability and brand leadership, Floorcare sits at the heart of the business. This role combines strategic category leadership with strong commercial execution. The successful candidate will own the category P&L, shape long-term growth plans, identify market opportunities, and work cross-functionally to deliver best-in-class go-to-market plans, product launches and customer experiences.\nAs the category expert, you will provide thought leadership on market dynamics, consumer trends, competitor activity and retailer strategies while ensuring Dyson remains the category leader and innovation benchmark. You will also play a critical role in accelerating category growth through premiumisation, driving adoption of emerging segments such as Wet and Robot, and strengthening Dyson's market leadership across the Floorcare portfolio.\nKey Responsibilities\nCategory Strategy & Leadership\nWork alongside the Head of Category to develop and own the Floorcare category strategy across GB&I.\nCreate and execute short, medium and long-term growth plans aligned to Dyson’s business objectives.\nIdentify new opportunities for category expansion, penetration and premiumisation.\nLead annual and quarterly category planning processes.\nAct as the category subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders.\nCommercial Performance\nDeliver category revenue, profit and market share targets.\nMonitor weekly and monthly business performance, identifying opportunities and corrective actions.\nBuild robust business cases to support investment decisions, strategic initiatives and product ranging.\nManage promotional and investment plans to maximise return on investment.\nProduct Lifecycle & Launch Excellence\nLead commercial planning for new product introductions and product transitions.\nPartner with the Global Business Unit teams to localise and execute launch strategies.\nEnsure successful end-to-end go-to-market execution across all channels.\nDrive adoption of innovation and technology storytelling to maximise consumer engagement.\nConsumer & Market Insight\nAnalyse market, consumer and retailer trends to identify growth opportunities.\nLeverage market data, insight tools and customer feedback to inform decision making.\nMonitor competitor activity and translate insights into actionable recommendations.\nChampion a consumer-first approach across all category initiatives.\nCross-Functional Leadership\nCollaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Retail, Finance, Supply Chain, Direct-to-Consumer and Business Unit teams.\nAlign stakeholders around category priorities and growth opportunities.\nInfluence senior leadership through data-driven recommendations and strategic storytelling.\nLead cross-functional projects to improve category performance and customer experience.\nRetail & Channel Development\nSupport channel strategies that accelerate category growth across both direct and indirect channels.\nPartner with cross functional teams on category reviews, ranging and retailer-specific growth plans.\nDrive excellence in merchandising, activation and category visibility.\nEnsure consistency of category messaging across all customer touchpoints.\nSkills & Experience\nEssential\nSignificant experience in Category Management, Commercial Strategy, Marketing or a related commercial discipline.\nDemonstrated ability to develop and execute category growth strategies.\nAdvanced analytical capability and experience using market and performance data.\nExcellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.\nStrong project management and prioritisation capability.\nExperience leading cross-functional teams and initiatives.\nExceptional communication, presentation and storytelling skills.\nPreferred\nExperience launching innovative products to market.\nExperience managing and developing team members.\nDegree-level qualification in Business, Marketing, Economics or a related field.\nLeadership Expectations\nThe successful candidate will:\nThink strategically while delivering operational excellence.\nMake decisions through data, insight and customer understanding.\nChallenge the status quo and identify new growth opportunities.\nDemonstrate resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.\nFoster collaboration across local, regional and global teams.\nChampion Dyson’s culture of innovation, curiosity and continuous improvement.\nWhy Dyson\nAt Dyson, you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of home technology and influence one of our most strategically important categories.
