This role will be responsible for the development of advanced heater control systems for consumer appliance products within Dyson’s New Category portfolio.\nThis role will be based in Shenzhen, China.\nThe role requires a highly motivated, creative, methodical and flexible individual with excellent communication skills, who is ready to take on challenges with a pragmatic approach. You will be part of a team of Electronics Engineers working on development projects.\nDevelop and implement heater control solutions for next-generation home appliance products.\nDefine and review control system architectures, block diagrams, and system-level control strategies.\nDevelop dynamic models and transfer functions for thermal control systems.\nDesign, tune, validate, and optimise PI/PID control algorithms.\nDevelop and maintain simulation models using MATLAB, Simulink, and Simscape.\nDevelop embedded control software and algorithms using C/C++.\nDevelop engineering analysis and automation tools using Python.\nReview MCU firmware architecture, source code implementation, and software quality.\nAnalyse and troubleshoot the interactions between heating systems and airflow motor control systems.\nDesign and review analogue and digital electronic circuits and schematics.\nSupport EMC, safety, reliability, and product validation activities.\nDevelop test methodologies and conduct or drive electronics design verification and product validation testing.\nDrive JDMs, suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure their production processes meet Dyson requirements.\nSupport reliability and quality engineers with field return analysis, quality improvements and reliability improvements.\nProvide on-site support and co-location at JDM or supplier workplaces as required.\nAbout you\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent.\nMinimum 3-5 years’ experience, preferably specialising in control systems, embedded electronics, power electronics, or appliance product development.\nStrong understanding of control theory and closed-loop control systems.\nProven experience developing and analysing control system diagrams and architectures.\nStrong knowledge of transfer functions, Bode plots, frequency-domain analysis, stability analysis, and control loop optimisation.\nHands-on experience tuning and validating PI/PID controllers.\nProficient in MATLAB, Simulink and Simscape.\nStrong programming capability in C/C++ and Python.\nExperience in MCU firmware development, debugging, and code review.\nExperience in electronics circuit design and schematic review.\nHighly self-motivated and a strong team player.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.\nJDM management experience,particularly within thehome appliancesector,ispreferred.\nBenefits\nDyson monitors the market to ensure competitive salaries and bonuses.
