The position ensures that engineering changes are assessed, communicated, implemented, and governed effectively so that repair networks, service centres, and markets remain fully aligned with the latest product configurations.\nThe role plays a critical part in maintaining service continuity, minimising field disruption, and improving customer experience by ensuring engineering changes are translated into accurate service solutions, technical documentation, and service parts readiness.\nKey Responsibilities\nEngineering Change Management\nOwn the service impact assessment for Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Change Requests (CRs), and Deviation Requests (DRs).\n\nEvaluate product changes to determine implications for repairability, service procedures, diagnostics, tooling, and spare parts.\n\nCoordinate service readiness activities associated with engineering changes from approval through implementation.\n\nTrack engineering changes throughout the lifecycle and ensure service deliverables are completed on schedule.\n\nMaintain visibility of change status, implementation risks, and service dependencies.\n\nService Parts & Configuration Management\nAssess service parts requirements arising from product changes.\n\nEnsure Master Parts Lists (MPLs), service BOMs, and service assemblies are updated accurately.\n\nValidate service part supersession, interchangeability, and obsolescence requirements.\n\nWork with Supply Chain and Service Parts teams to ensure readiness of replacement parts and assemblies.\n\nService Documentation & Technical Readiness\nCoordinate updates to service manuals, repair procedures, technical bulletins, troubleshooting guides, and service communications.\n\nEnsure engineering changes are captured within service knowledge systems and technical documentation.\n\nSupport market launches of engineering changes and new configurations.\n\nEnsure field repair processes remain accurate and compliant following product modifications.\n\nCross-Functional Change Coordination\nServe as the primary service representative within engineering change forums and governance reviews.\n\nCollaborate with:\nProduct Development Engineering\n\nManufacturing Engineering\n\nQuality & Reliability\n\nSupply Chain\n\nProcurement\n\nService Operations\n\nRefurbishment Engineering\n\nCustomer Care teams\n\nFacilitate alignment between engineering change timelines and service readiness activities.\n\nGovernance, Reporting & Risk Management\nMaintain engineering change trackers, dashboards, and implementation metrics.\n\nMonitor change implementation progress and escalate risks where appropriate.\n\nEnsure traceability of service-related decisions and approvals.\n\nSupport audits and governance reviews through accurate documentation and reporting.\n\nContinuous Improvement & Digitalisation\nIdentify opportunities to improve engineering change workflows, automation, and data quality.\n\nDrive adoption of PLM, ERP, and service management tools.\n\nImprove visibility and reporting of engineering change impacts through dashboards and analytics.\n\nSupport standardisation of global change management processes across product categories and regions.\n\nAbout you\nDegree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Product Engineering, or a related discipline.\n\nExperience in product change management, engineering operations, service engineering, aftersales, manufacturing engineering, or product lifecycle management.\n\nExperience supporting engineering changes within a consumer products, manufacturing, electronics, or engineering environment.\n\nStrong understanding of product structures, BOMs, MPLs, configurations, and revision control.\n\nExperience working with cross-functional stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.\n\nFamiliarity with NPI, sustaining engineering, and post-SOP product support activities.\n\nTechnical Skills\nUnderstanding of engineering change control processes (ECR/ECO/CR/DR).\n\nWorking knowledge of PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter), ERP systems, and document management tools.\n\nStrong analytical and data management capabilities.\n\nProficiency in Excel and reporting tools; Power BI experience advantageous.\n\nBenefits\nDyson monitors the market to ensure competitive salaries and bonuses.
