They implement quality assurance procedures and perform routine inspections and quality tests. They ensure that standards and safety regulations in their area are observed. They practice continuous improvement regarding the methods they employ and the documentation they use.\nEssential functions\nExecute incoming and final inspections.\nLog inspection results in the system.\nReview mill certifications for product conformance to specifications. Scan and maintain mill certs.\nCompletes a Material Return Notice (MRN) when product is returned from job sites.\nEstablish product identity during inventory and when products are returned.\nPerforms Pre-Production Approval (PPAP) inspections for new suppliers.\nGenerates Corrective Action Reports (CAR) for non-conformances.\nNotifies buyers, project coordinators, and/or designers when parts are non-conforming.\nSort for critical deviations when there isn’t time to return a discrepant shipment.\nAttend material review and board meeting.\nPerform product testing.\nOther duties as assigned.\nRequired Education and experience\nAssociates degree from a two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training\nCompetencies\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, material certificates, safety rules, operating and maintain instructions, and procedure manuals.\nAbility to write routine reports and correspondence.\nStrong communication skills.\nEffectively speaking before a group of employees.\nKnowledge to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.\nEffectively apply the concepts of basic algebra and geometry.\nSolve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in a situations where only limited standardization exists.\nInterpretation of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form.\nProper use and knowledge of calipers, height gauges, depth gauges, and basic inspection instruments.\nKnowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams is required.\nAbility to lift or move up to 70 pounds at a time.\nEffectively work in a warehouse setting with moderate noise levels.\nMust be able to work independently and be self- motivated.\nDeals with others in a straightforward and honest manner, is accountable for actions, maintains confidentiality and supports company goals and values.\nOtherDuties\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
