Working across our Repair & Strengthening, Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), and Geotechnical businesses, the successful candidate will support both the pre-contract and post-contract commercial functions of the organisation.\nThis role offers excellent exposure to a diverse range of infrastructure projects, including bridge strengthening, structural monitoring, geotechnical investigations, instrumentation and monitoring, and specialist construction works. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing competitive and commercially robust tenders, whilst also supporting the financial management and commercial delivery of live projects.\nThe role is primarily based in Bury but will require occasional attendance at our Southam and London offices, together with periodic visits to customer sites and project locations.\nKey Responsibilities\nPre-Contract Activities\nReview Invitations to Tender (ITT), specifications, drawings and supporting documentation.\nPrepare detailed estimates and pricing submissions from first principles.\nObtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.\nDevelop labour, plant, material and subcontract cost build-ups.\nIdentify project risks and opportunities and incorporate these into tender submissions.\nAssist in the preparation of programmes, methodologies and commercial submissions.\nEnsure tender submissions are completed accurately and submitted on time.\nMaintain comprehensive records and supporting documentation for all estimates and bids.\nLiaise with operational, technical and engineering teams to develop competitive proposals.\n\nCommercial Management of Live Projects\nPrepare and submit monthly applications for payment.\nAssess the value of work completed and monitor project performance against budget.\nManage subcontractor and supplier accounts, including payment assessments and certification.\nPrepare, negotiate and agree variations and compensation events.\nSupport project teams with contract administration and commercial advice.\nProduce Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) for larger projects.\nMonitor project costs, revenue and forecast margins.\nAssist in the preparation and management of project budgets and forecasts.\nSupport the management of contractual notices and documentation.\nContribute to project reviews and financial reporting processes.\n\nStakeholder Management\nBuild strong working meetings.\nProvide commercial support across multiple business units and project teams.\n\nPerson Specification\nEssential\nDegree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial discipline.\nRecently qualified Quantity Surveyor or early-career commercial professional.\nStrong numerical and analytical skills.\nGood understanding of construction contracts and commercial principles.\nProficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.\nExcellent attention to detail and organisational skills.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nFull UK driving licence.\nWillingness to travel occasionally to sites and other company locations.\n\nDesirable\nExperience working within civil engineering, infrastructure, rail, structural repair,
