This role is responsible for leading product lifecycle activities from concept development through launch, with a focus on translating mission needs and customer requirements into clear product capabilities and engineering priorities.\nThe ideal candidate brings a blend of engineering understanding, product intuition, cross-functional leadership, and customer engagement skills. You will partner closely with engineering, program management, operations, and business development to shape product direction, define requirements, support execution, and ensure successful delivery of high-impact technical products. This role requires strategic thinking, system-level reasoning, and the ability to navigate multidisciplinary teams in a fast-moving environment.\nRequired Duties and Responsibilities:\nProduct Ownership\nOwn product capability through all phases of development\nAlign product strategy by bridging user voice and functional capability\nDefine product value propositions, technical differentiation, and market positioning\nOwn outcomes from trade studies, representing both end user and engineering strategic value\nRequirements Development & Systems Thinking\nExperience in creating detailed product requirements\nFacilitate requirement decomposition across engineering disciplines\nMaintain Documentation in JIRA and/or requirements systems\nProduct Lifecycle\nLead concept → prototype → development → test → launch\nSupport verification, validation, operational assessment, and sustainment\nEstablish lifecycle gates, quality criteria, and performance metrics\nCross-Functional Leadership & Program Execution\nPartner with engineering, program management and operations.\nFluency in building and maintaining milestones\nExperience resolving early escalation of risk\nDrive and facilitate technical and operational decision-making\nCustomer Engagement & Mission Understanding\nEngage with DoD customers, operators, analysts, and mission leads\nSupport technical reviews, requirement scoping, and customer discovery\nCapture user feedback for roadmap evolution\nProduct Validation & Sustainment\nOversee testing, field assessments, prototype integration\nKey stakeholder in product readiness and phase gate acceptance\nRequired Skills/Qualifications:\n5-10+ years technical product management or related engineering role.\nStrong technical foundations (Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Systems).\nSkilled in writing clear requirements and product documentation.\nExperience with Project Management Tools MS Project and JIRA\nStrong analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.\nAbility to navigate and structure organizational roles/responsibilities.\nHighly accountable individual with ability to work through conflicted objectives\nPreferred Skills/Qualifications:\nExperience in defense systems, autonomous systems, or regulated industries.\nExperience with user research, mission analysis, or proposal development.\nSystems engineering or Agile-related certifications.\nPMP or Project Management Certifications\nScrum or Agile Certifications\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or science.
