In this role, you'll be responsible for supporting and optimizing SQL Server environments while helping advance our modern data platform strategy through cloud technologies, automation, and data engineering initiatives.\nThis position combines traditional database administration with emerging cloud and data platform responsibilities, providing opportunities to work with SQL Server, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, data integration solutions, and modern data architecture. The ideal candidate is analytical, solutions-oriented, and passionate about building reliable, scalable, and high-performing data environments.\nWhat You’ll Do\nSupport and maintain SQL Server production, QA, and development environments to ensure availability, performance, and reliability.\nMonitor database health, capacity, and performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues.\nTroubleshoot database and application-related incidents and participate in on-call support as needed.\nPerform query tuning, performance optimization, indexing reviews, and execution plan analysis.\nManage backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.\nAdminister database security, permissions, and access controls.\nSupport database upgrades, patching, migrations, and environment refresh activities.\nCollaborate with developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders on database design and data requirements.\nDevelop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and operational standards.\nSupport Microsoft Azure SQL, Azure data services, and cloud-based database initiatives.\nAssist with Microsoft Fabric implementation, administration, and platform optimization.\nSupport Azure Data Factory pipelines and data integration processes.\nContribute to data engineering, ETL/ELT, and data modernization initiatives.\nDevelop automation solutions using PowerShell and other scripting tools to improve operational efficiency.\nParticipate in CI/CD, source control, monitoring, and deployment activities for database and data platform solutions.\nDrive continuous improvement efforts that enhance reliability, scalability, and overall platform performance.\nYour Wellness Is Our Focus\nMedical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents\nEmployee Assistance Programs with a strong focus on mental health\n24/7 access to a licensed therapist\nWellness programs with employee perks\nOnsite Fitness Center and Medical Clinic\nFinancial Wellbeing\nGenerous 401(k) matching retirement plan\nPre-tax savings options including HSA and FSA\nTuition assistance\nFinancial wellness resources through our Employee Assistance Program\nEarning potential up to $90k\nFlexibility & Time Off\nPaid time off including vacation, sick leave, parental leave, holidays, and disability leave\nQualifications\nWhat You’ll Need\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.\n2-4 years of experience in SQL Server database administration, database support, or a related role.\nStrong experience supporting production SQL Server environments, including monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, security, backup/recovery, and high availability.\nAdvanced T-SQL skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nExperience supporting production incidents and participating in an on-call support environment.\nAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nStrong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.\nExperience with Microsoft Azure SQL and other Azure data services preferred.\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and cloud data platforms preferred.\nKnowledge of data engineering, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes preferred.\nExperience with PowerShell or other automation and scripting tools preferred.\nFamiliarity with CI/CD processes, source control, monitoring tools, and Power BI is a plus.\nA continuous improvement mindset and passion for modern data technologies.\nOur Promise to You\nAt Atlas, we want you to grow your career - not just fill a role.
