As a Senior Data Scientist in our newly established AI UNIT within E.ON Drive Infrastructure (EDRI), a special unit built and run like a startup, you will help transform complex business challenges into data-driven decisions. Working closely with stakeholders across the organization, you will develop analyses, experiments, and models that create measurable business impact and shape the future of AI-driven decision-making at EDRI. You report to our Head of AI Strategy.Your Responsibilities\nTranslate business challenges into analyses, predictive models, and actionable recommendations\nBuild and validate statistical, machine learning, and optimization models to support strategic decision-making\nDesign experiments and measure real business impact, beyond correlation, using rigorous analytical methodologies\nCollaborate with AI/ML Engineers to bring analytical models into production environments\nCommunicate insights, assumptions, and uncertainty clearly to stakeholders up to CEO level\nEstablish best practices and standards for analytics, experimentation, and model development\nEvaluate emerging AI models, AI tooling, and agentic systems and use what works to accelerate analysis workflows\nDrive data-informed decision-making across business functions and regions\nShare knowledge and support the development of junior colleagues - this is a senior individual contributor role\nYour profile\nYou are a commercially minded Data Scientist who combines strong analytical rigor with the ability to influence business decisions. You enjoy tackling ambiguous problems, turning data into insights, and delivering measurable outcomes.\nMust have\nProven experience delivering analyses and models that influenced real business decisions\nStrong background in statistics, including hypothesis testing, experimentation, and causal inference\nExcellent programming skills in Python and SQL\nDeep expertise in at least one area such as forecasting, optimization, causal inference, or Bayesian methods\nAbility to communicate complex analytical findings to non-technical audiences\nStrong commercial mindset with a focus on business impact and value creation\nExperience working with machine learning techniques and data-driven decision-making frameworks\nCurious, pragmatic, and passionate about solving complex problems through data and AI-driven insights\n Nice to haveExperience taking models into production\nHands-on experience with GenAI or LLM-based tools\nExperience in energy, mobility, or other asset-heavy industries\nWe hire for spikes, not for resumes.
