Learn more at www.esource.com\nAs a Solution Architect, you’ll play a key role in assessing, designing, and implementing the network and infrastructure systems behind technical and infrastructure projects, including cybersecurity and operational technology (OT) network work. You’ll work closely with a program manager, project managers, and technical teams to shape how networks, servers, databases, applications, and workstations come together, helping ensure our work is not only smart, but clear, relevant, and actionable. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of IT infrastructure, network architecture, and OT security, brings strong judgment to complex problems, and wants to contribute to work that shapes real-world decisions in the energy industry.\nIn this role, you will:\nAssess current network design, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless systems, segmentation, and monitoring tools, and recommend changes\n\nReview architecture documentation remotely, and provide onsite support to gather network topology information for systems that can’t be accessed remotely\n\nIdentify critical gaps, legacy systems, and technical debt across business and technical environments, and recommend improvements\n\nTranslate business and technical requirements into architectural blueprints, and document all solution architecture design and analysis work\n\nSupport the design and implementation of technical and infrastructure systems for cybersecurity and OT network projects\n\nImplement network routes that allow monitoring tools to communicate between sites\n\nSupport the deployment and integration of physical and virtual servers, databases, and workstations, from configuration through operational readiness\n\nCoordinate with network, server, database, security, application, and operations teams to make sure every part of the solution is properly integrated\n\nTroubleshoot connectivity, routing, access, and performance issues across new, existing, and legacy systems, including systems no longer supported by the original manufacturer\n\nDevelop and maintain architecture diagrams, network drawings, implementation plans, and operational and support documentation\n\nProvide onsite or remote support during testing, cutover, stabilization, and handoff to operations teams\n\nYou’re likely a great fit if you:\nHave a strong general understanding of both modern and legacy technology stacks\n\nCan troubleshoot across interconnected network, server, application, database, and security environments\n\nTurn business and technical requirements into infrastructure solutions that can be implemented\n\nCommunicate clearly, in writing and in conversation, with project managers, technical and cybersecurity teams, vendors, and business stakeholders\n\nWork well as part of a project team led by a program or project manager\n\nAnd even better if you:\nHave experience working with or around utilities, energy, consulting, research, or adjacent fields\n\nUnderstand IT/OT network architecture, segmentation, security zones, and defense-in-depth principles, including the Purdue Model and IT/OT demilitarized zone (DMZ) architecture\n\nAre familiar with industrial control system (ICS) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) environments, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), remote terminal units (RTUs), historians, and engineering workstations\n\nKnow industrial protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, OPC/OPC UA, and EtherNet/IP\n\nAre familiar with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST SP 800-82, ISA/IEC 62443, or the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework\n\nCan assess legacy or unsupported OT technologies and recommend appropriate compensating controls\n\nHave hands-on experience with tools such as Cisco, Juniper, or Aruba networking; Palo Alto or Fortinet firewalls; Wireshark, SolarWinds, or PRTG; Splunk, QRadar, or Microsoft Sentinel; Dragos, Claroty, or Nozomi; VMware or Hyper-V; Active Directory or Entra ID; and PowerShell, Python, or Ansible\n\nExperience and Skills to Qualify Include:\n7+ years of experience in solution architecture, infrastructure architecture, network engineering, systems engineering, or a related technical role\n\nExperience assessing, designing, implementing, and troubleshooting enterprise network and infrastructure environments\n\nStrong understanding of routing, switching, firewalls, virtual local area networks (VLANs), network segmentation, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, virtual private networks (VPNs), and network monitoring\n\nExperience across servers, databases, applications, workstations, virtualization, and network infrastructure\n\nExperience developing network and architecture diagrams, technical designs, implementation plans, and operational documentation\n\nExperience supporting both legacy and modern technology environments, including integration and compatibility needs\n\nAt E Source, you’ll work alongside people who are thoughtful, curious, and deeply knowledgeable about utility and energy systems.
