Electrical Test Engineer, EGSE & Instrumentation

We are looking for a hands-on Electrical Test Engineer to own electrical verification and electrical ground support equipment (EGSE) for E-Space’s integrated antenna assembly. You will build and troubleshoot electrical test setups, solder test hardware, write test software (Labview, Python), configure and run data acquisition (DAQ) systems, and operate spacecraft and instrument surrogates for verification testing.

This is an electrical engineering role with substantial bench and test facility work. You will own the electrical test chain from the hardware connection through acquisition, automation, and recorded evidence. During environmental campaigns, you will work alongside the engineer responsible for mechanical testing, providing electrical test support and functional verification.

On-site in Arlington, Texas. Hands-on bench work and test facility presence are required. Some travel between sites expected.

What you will do:

• Plan and execute the antenna assembly’s electrical verification campaign, from requirements and test procedures through anomaly investigation and verification closure.
• Set up, check out, operate, and troubleshoot EGSE, including spacecraft and instrument surrogates used to exercise the antenna assembly’s electrical interfaces.
• Build, modify, and repair electrical test hardware, including hands-on soldering and test connections, following applicable workmanship and hardware handling procedures.
• Write, maintain, and debug scripts for instrument control, test sequencing, data acquisition, and data reduction.
• Configure and operate DAQ systems. Check the measurement chain and recorded data before relying on them to make a hardware decision.
• Develop repeatable test procedures and record the hardware, EGSE, software, and acquisition configuration needed to interpret and reproduce a result.
• Monitor electrical behavior during test execution, respond to anomalies in accordance with procedures, and distinguish test-equipment or script problems from test-article problems.
• Support electrical functional checks and monitoring associated with environmental test campaigns, coordinating with the mechanical test engineer and facility team.
• Document results, limitations, and anomaly dispositions; maintain electrical verification closure records in the verification matrix.

Required qualifications:

• BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical electrical engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience testing and troubleshooting electrical hardware, with personal responsibility for bench setup, execution, and interpretation of results.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and connection documentation, make and inspect soldered connections, and troubleshoot electrical test hardware.
• Ability to write and debug LabVIEW or Python scripts that interact with real instruments or DAQ hardware. Proficiency in at least one is required.
• Experience configuring and running a DAQ system and checking that the full measurement chain produces credible data.
• Experience operating EGSE or comparable electrical test equipment used to exercise and verify hardware interfaces.
• Ability to write clear procedures, investigate anomalies methodically, and document the evidence supporting a test conclusion.

Preferred qualifications:

• Spacecraft or instrument EGSE experience, including operation or development of spacecraft and instrument surrogates.
• Electrical verification of flight or other high-reliability hardware.
• Electrical functional testing and instrumentation during thermal-vacuum, vibration, or other environmental campaigns.
• Experience with LabVIEW, Python, or other data acquisition software, and with maintaining test automation that other engineers or technicians can run.
• Experience integrating instrumentation and DAQ into larger assembly-level test setups.

This is a fast-paced, high-impact environment - flexibility to occasionally work extended hours or weekends during critical periods is expected.
