To accelerate the world’s renewable energy transition and create a more sustainable, resilient energy future for everyone.\nWith our innovative SolBank lithium-iron phosphate battery technology and comprehensive project services, we’re not just building products we’re powering communities and making a difference worldwide.\nPosition Title: Service Technician\nReports To: Field Service Supervisor\nLocation: UK/ North UK- On-Site ( NE around Hull, Doncaster, York area, East of Manchester)\nPosition Summary:\nThe Service Technician role begins with an intensive 8-16-week training period through hands-on commissioning of new Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) sites. During this period, you will gain comprehensive knowledge of CSI Energy Storage's Solbank Storage Power Block (SPB) through direct involvement in site setup and commissioning. Following this training phase, you will transition to the service team, where your main responsibilities will include both preventative and corrective maintenance of commissioned SPB sites. The individual will also be responsible for completing obligations under Long Term Service Agreements (LTSA's) of BESS projects. The successful candidate must be able to travel and complete tasks at various project sites throughout the UK. Experience with BESS or renewable power generation equipment in a service environment is required.\nResponsibilities:\nCommission CSI Energy Storage’s Solbank Storage Power Block\nPreventative and Corrective Maintenance of SPB’s to adhere to warranty requirements.\nObligations for BESS equipment under LTSA’s which may include:\nEnergy Storage Cabinets (ESC’s)\nPower Conversion Stations (PCS)\nRing Main Units (RMU’s) / Switchgear\nTransformers\nSCADA and networking devices\nProvide onsite diagnostic, troubleshooting and hands on support to maintain equipment and achieve availability and capacity guarantees.\nCurrent Call-Out Rota on a 4 in 1 basis\nOversee and supervise sub-contractors on site where required.\nAssist in developing standard operating procedures and processes.\nComplete work order documentation in a timely matter\nEnsure inventory of spare parts is accurate.\nPerform proper LOTO and switching procedures as required.\nSupport client training during commissioning.\nAdhere to all health and safety rules and policies.\nComplete other duties and projects as assigned.\nQualifications and Experience:\nQualified Electrical Technician\nMinimum 5 years’ relevant work experience in a service environment preferably in renewable energy\nCSCS Certified\nPrevious training and knowledge of inverters\nSCADA experience will be beneficial.\nKnowledge of general and national codes, medium voltage power systems and Energy Storage system applications is an asset.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nDemonstrated proficiency using MS Office Applications (Word, Excel)\nPrevious experience with a CMMS software program preferred.\nMust possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.\nFirst Aid Trained\nMust be able to travel to regional locations as needed (over 80% of time)\nAbility to function successfully both independently and within a team.\nDemonstrated professional appearance and conduct.\nCompensation & Benefits:\ne-Storage offers a competitive salary plus a fully comprehensive benefits and performance bonus package based on annual objective achievement.\nCanadian Solar Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
