At EQ-S, we are building energy management solutions. These solutions have indoor and outdoor equipment that need to be build and delivered to project sites in large volumes.\nAs Panel Assemlby Shop/Site Manager of EMS assembly team, you will build the assembly facility from ground up, oversee the daily operations, manage a team of skilled technicians, and ensure the smooth functioning of the assembly operations. If you have a passion for the clean industry and possess expertise in energy-related compute and networking equipment operations, hand tools, heavy lifting, mechanical & electrical knowledge, and power tools, join the team. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with shop-floor supervision and operational management in person on-site in a facility in Kitchener area. If you're ready to take ownership of building a busy shop with excellent project volume, we want to meet you.\nResponsibilities\nShop Setup & Development (Initial Phase)\nLead layout planning of panel shop floor (workstations, testing area, kitting, storage).\nDefine assembly workflows and production standards.\nAssist in selection of tools, equipment, and fixtures.\nDevelop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for panel assembly and testing.\nSupport hiring and training of panel technicians and assemblers.\nProduction & Operations\nSupervise daily panel assembly activities.\nAssign work and balance workload across technicians.\nEnsure adherence to wiring standards, schematics, and quality requirements.\nCoordinate with engineering on drawing revisions and technical clarifications.\nMonitor productivity, cycle time, and labor efficiency.\nEnsure on-time completion of production schedules.\nQuality & Compliance\nImplement quality control checkpoints.\nVerify proper labeling, wiring standards, torque specs, and testing protocols.\nEnsure compliance with UL / CE / NEC / IEC (as applicable).\nDrive root cause analysis and corrective actions.\nMaintain build documentation and revision control.\nCoordination & Communication\nWork closely with Mechanical and Electrical technicians, Material Planner / Procurement and Field Service / Installation Teams\nProvide status updates on build progress via dashboards etc to stakeholders.\nIdentify risks to schedule and escalate early.\nSafety\nEnforce shop safety standards. Maintain clean and organized workstations.\nPromote continuous improvement culture.\nRequired Qualifications\n8+ years experience in control panel assembly or electrical manufacturing.\n5+ years supervisory experience of day-to-day operations and overseeing electrical and mech technicians.\nPrevious experience in leading the setup, build-out of an assembly facility is required. \nStrong ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.\nKnowledge of industrial control components and BOM (e.g. server racks, network switches, firewalls, breakers, relays, e-stops, din rails, etc.).\nFamiliarity with UL and IEC (or applicable) standards.\nExperience in lean manufacturing, FAT and related automation improvements preferred.\nHave quality mindset and drive for safety compliance to delivers panels on time and within budget and of high quality.\nFamiliarity with energy industry regulations, standards, and protocols.\ne-STORAGE is Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
