The ideal candidate will contribute to integration testing, internal tool development, solution validation, technical documentation, and cross-functional coordination across multiple products, suppliers, and teams.\n\nFor internally developed systems, the engineer will work closely with R&D and global engineering teams to provide direct input on design features, electrical interfaces, validation strategies, and integration requirements. For externally procured products, the focus will be on leading technical due diligence, confirming compatibility with the overall system architecture, supporting standards compliance, and transferring product knowledge to internal engineering, Applications, and Execution teams.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nTechnical Due Diligence and Product Development Support\nConduct detailed technical due diligence on inverter, EMS, MVT, and related power-system products to ensure performance, safety, compliance, compatibility, and long-term reliability.\n\nDevelop and maintain internal tools to support system sizing, product design, project development, and the evaluation of new opportunities, while enabling continuous improvement across existing product lines.\n\nFor internally developed products, collaborate with R&D and technical teams to support design development, interface definition, validation testing, and platform roadmap alignment.\n\nFor externally sourced products, lead the evaluation of technical specifications, drawings, certifications, test reports, performance claims, and integration requirements; confirm alignment with the overall solution architecture and support cross-functional knowledge transfer.\n\nSupport Independent Engineer reviews and customer-led technical due diligence by preparing documentation packages, addressing technical and compliance questions, and representing the internal design basis.\n\nMonitor and interpret evolving product standards, grid codes, electrical requirements, and communication protocols relevant to inverter, EMS, MVT, microgrid, and integrated energy-storage solutions, including applicable UL, IEEE, IEC, and regional requirements.\n\nSolution Development & Supply Chain Support\nOversee the development and enhancement of internal engineering tools to support system modeling, product validation, and solution optimization efforts.\n\nLead the technical review of new inverter, EMS, MVT, gas turbine, and related electrical products being evaluated for integration into our solutions, including technical specifications, drawings, equipment selection and sizing, certifications, calculations, performance data, and test results.\n\nSupport the definition and review of electrical interfaces between the inverter, battery system, MVT, MV switchgear or protection equipment, auxiliary systems, EMS, and grid connection.\n\nCoordinate cross-functional communication to introduce new products to internal stakeholders, including engineering, project execution, and applications teams.\n\nMaintain traceability of vendor/product documentation, internal evaluations, and platform status through internal tools and documentation systems.\n\nWork closely with procurement, product management, and R&D teams to support alignment between product design, supplier capabilities, and commercial rollout.\n\nCoordinate parallel supplier and product workstreams, ensuring that technical dependencies, responsibilities, deliverables, and unresolved items are clearly documented.\n\nCross-functional Support and Customization\nParticipate in integration testing between the inverter skid, battery enclosure and BMS, EMS, MVT, auxiliary systems, and associated electrical equipment to support safe and reliable system operation.\n\nLead internal discussions with engineering, product, and software teams to troubleshoot control strategies and support platform optimization.\n\nProvide technical input and coordination for project-specific requirements, custom feature requests, or client-specific configurations.\n\nContribute to the development of internal documentation, reference templates, and knowledge-sharing tools that support consistent product execution across regions.\n\nCollaborate closely with global R&D and applications engineering teams to align on feature roadmaps and deployment readiness.\n\nPerform other related duties as assigned by management.\n\nRequired Qualifications and Skills:\nBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems, controls engineering, or a related discipline; preference given to candidates with a postgraduate degree in engineering.\n\nMinimum 5 years of experience in engineering, R&D, or project commissioning within power electronics, energy storage, microgrids, power generation, or related industries.\n\nDirect experience in inverter product development, control systems, or energy storage project commissioning is strongly preferred.\n\nStrong general electrical-system knowledge, including power systems, power electronics, inverters, plant-level controls, transformers, medium-voltage equipment, protection, and system integration.\n\nExperience with Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and microgrid applications, including electrical architecture, equipment interfaces, controls, and system integration.\n\nExperience with medium-voltage transformers and associated MV equipment, including equipment ratings, selection, sizing, protection, electrical interfaces, and system integration.\n\nKnowledge of gas turbine systems, including technical evaluation, equipment selection and sizing, operating characteristics, performance assessment, and integration within microgrid or power-system applications, is preferred.\n\nFamiliarity with key standards and certifications related to inverter, EMS, MVT, microgrid, and integrated power-system applications, including applicable UL, IEEE, IEC, medium-voltage equipment, and grid-interconnection requirements.\n\nExperience collaborating with international partners, particularly engineering or manufacturing teams across global time zones.\n\nDemonstrated ability to lead or contribute to the development of internal engineering tools, system models, or automation processes.\n\nStrong technical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills, with a hands-on approach to product validation and integration.\n\nProficiency in Mandarin is a plus but not required.\n\ne-STORAGE is Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
