At E2, we value safety, innovation and collaboration, and we are dedicated to excellence.\nOverview\nThe Distribution Project Planner will assist in the development of strategic project plans, which will help the Company meet its goals.\nResponsibilities\nVisits work sites to collect information and assist with determination of scope to enable designs of low to moderate complexity for additions and modifications to Company gas and/or electric facilities from onset through completion of project. \nAs necessary, meets with customers to identify specific design limitations, and customer requests. \nPrepares service orders, field memos and light construction work orders with safe, reliable, and cost-effective designs that conform to Company policies, safety orders, and CPUC regulations. \nProvide knowledge of and experience with the interpretation and application of design and engineering principals, overhead, underground, distribution, CPUC Rules, gas and electric theory standard practices and construction calculations. \nRequired proficiency in AutoCAD, Geographical Information Systems, MS Office applications, Smartsheet, SAP and web based applications. Identifies site specific obstacles, relays this information to customers, and presents design options for consideration.\nQualifications\nMinimum High School Diploma.\n2+ years of experience working on utility distribution system projects.\nDesigner experience(Overhead, Underground, or Gas).\nCommunicates with other project team members in the development of a compliant design according to appropriate standards. \nAbility to effectively communicate with regards to design approach and decisions made during the design process. \nIn the absence of the Project Manager or Project Designer, able to substitute in project meetings and communicate effectively with regards to the design. \nCommunicates with other project team members and customers in the development of a compliant design according to appropriate standards. \nModerate experience working with designers, planners and PM’s on matters related to design.
