At E2, we value safety, innovation and collaboration, and we are dedicated to excellence.\nOverview\nE2 is looking for a Senior Substation Engineer to join our team in our Pasadena office to support one of the largest electric utility clients. The candidate will be responsible for the design of deliverables including general arrangement drawings, electrical equipment plan & elevation drawings, above & below grade conduit & grounding drawings, relay house layout and complete bill of materials. The position will work under the direction of a Lead Engineer and will report directly to the Substation Engineering Manager or Lead Engineer.\nResponsibilities\nPerform substation physical design activities including drawings, specifications, and bill of materials.\nPerform careful self-checking activities to ensure the quality of work before it is presented to Lead Engineer for review.\nPrepare computer assisted design and construction drawings of a complex nature with neatness and a minimum of errors.\nPerform engineering calculations such as conduit and bus sizing, lighting & lightning analysis, and grounding grid analysis.\nEnsure all designs conform to our client’s and industry standards.\nCommunicate and coordinate project activities with lead engineer and/or project manager.\nUtilize client and/or company information system to track and update design activities.\nParticipate/lead job site meetings to gather scope of work.\nParticipate/lead in answering Request for Information (RFI) during project construction.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nRequired\nBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. \n10+ years of experience working in substation design or similar with utility or consulting engineering firm.\nProficient using Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook).\nStrong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.\nBasic written and verbal communication skills.\nPreferred\nProfessional Engineer Certification preferred but not required.\nExperience with substation design and construction standards for Southern California Edison.\nExperience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.\nBenefits\nE2 Consulting Engineers, LP offers an excellent benefits package including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, 401(k) with employer match, paid time off.\nWage Data Per State Requirements\nSalary range for this position is $140,000 - $170,000.
