The Controller has the main responsibility of financial and accounting management. problem-solving, and organizational skills.\nResponsibilities\nFinancial & Business Management\nMaximizes return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.\nGuides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.\nProtects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.\nMonitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors.\nMaximizes return and limits risk on cash by minimizing bank balances and making investments.\nPrepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.\nAchieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.\nProvides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.\nPrepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.\nComplies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions.\nEnsures operation of equipment by establishing preventive maintenance requirements and service contracts, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.\nCompletes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.\nMaintains financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.\nMaintains financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.\nProtects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.\nAccounting\nAnnually manage preparation of Company tax return and partner K-1s by outside Auditor.\nAnnually prepare documents, process and manage conducting outside audit and preparation of audit report\nReview checking accounting balance 2-3x / month; perform monthly bank statement reconciliation and review complete CMIC accounting reconciliation\nWeekly review accounts payable and request approval of payments and issue checks\nReview project job cost estimate booking with Project Management and verify it gets set-up in CMIC accounting\nQuarterly review operating expenses versus budget \nMonthly review of construction job cost\nComplete quarterly P&L review and report preparation and balance statement\nReview employee reimbursable expenses and credit card expense use\nDevelop and update Accounting Procedure Manual\nRisk Management and Compliance\nAnnually review and renew business licenses in jurisdictions\nAnnually review business insurance coverages and submit required financial information to renew and update premium costs.\nSupport maintenance of relationship with surety bonding company \nRequest comfort letters for proposals surety bonding company\nObtain certificates of insurance as required for our customer contracts\nObtain P&P bonds as required for our customer contracts\nHuman Resource Management, Compensation & Benefits\nProcess regular payroll on Paycor 2x / month\nCalculate commission calculations and process quarterly commission payments\nPeriodically, as necessitated, update changes to payroll deductions and compensation on Paycor\nAnnually (in November) review employee health insurance options with Bukaty & Co for medical, dental, vision, life, & LTD/ADD\nAnnually update Employee Benefits documents\nQuarterly review vacation accrual\nAnnually review salary and raises for all employees with President\nReview job description and salary for new employees\nMaintain Employee Handbook\nVerify employees have written objectives and responsibilities in place\nQualifications\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance\nExperience:\nMinimum 10+ years’ experience in accounting/finance\nExperience with accounting standards and financial reporting requirements\nSkills:\nManaging processes\nFinancial software CMIC\nDeveloping standards\nAuditing, accounting, and corporate finance\nTracking budget expenses\nFinancial skills\nAnalyzing information\nDeveloping budgets\nPerformance management\nAdditional Skills that would be a Plus\nExperience utilizing CMIC accounting and project management software\nExperience with human resource management, compensation &
