# Geotechnical Engineer

Description MAIN PURPOSE: The Geotechnical Engineer provides geotechnical support and expertise to the mine planning group and mine operations at Eagle Mine with direction from the Senior Geotechnical Engineer. The role utilizes specific knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and practices to optimize safety, quality, and productivity of the operation. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES: Utilize empirical, numerical, and analytical methods to design and evaluate ground support patterns Independently inspect working areas and generate documentation and reports for activities including corrosion mapping, ground support QAQC inspections, and re-entry inspections. Work with Mining Engineers to develop and update mine plans to include geotechnical considerations Manage the expansion and calibration of the microseismic system Plan, monitor and track ground support rehabilitation activities Review monthly mine plans for potential geotechnical concerns using field mapping, core photographs, core logs, and modeling. Update the life of mine stress model and assess the impact of stope design and sequence changes on induced stresses Assist in the installation and maintenance of instr
