Ensure accurate control is established to all development and production areas within the underground operation. Ensure Survey processes and equipment are up to date and to the best industry standards and practices.\nORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIP: This role does hold direct reports\nMAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:\nPromoting and providing safety leadership throughout all areas of influence\nSupervise the use of and seek to continually improve all survey processes to achieve specified goals, cost and safety targets\nMaintain accurate survey control database network\nApprove level design mark-ups and ensure accuracy of surveys\nApprove drill and blast hole design mark-ups and ensure accuracy of surveys\nIdentify and manage all mining void solids\nResponsible for the accurate and timely distribution of drill and blast reconciliation reports for all underground production headings and stopes\nResponsible for the accurate and timely distribution of monthly survey reports for all production headings, COSA and surface piles.\nOversee InSAR surface monitoring, and ensure reporting is updated.\nEnsure all survey equipment is maintained and calibrations are current\nTrack and order items and/or equipment as required\nMentoring and supervision of Underground Survey Technicians\nProvide support to the Mining Engineers and Technical Services as required\nPerform other duties as assigned\nEDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:\nBachelor’s degree in Survey or Survey Engineering; appropriate combination of education and experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree requirements.\n3-7 years of professional experience (technical and/or operations); underground experience required.\nExperience in Cut and Fill, and Longhole Stoping mining methods preferred.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills required\nStrong computer skills and previous experience with mining software and database management (e.g. Deswik, Vulcan, and Ventsim).\nUnderstanding of mine planning principles and practices, required\nExperience with drone survey\nProven leadership experience\nDrivers license required\nStrong problem solving skills\nKEY PERSONAL COMPETENCIES:\nAction Oriented - Initiates timely action to address important issues.\nCollaborates - Encourages unity rather than us vs. them thinking\nCommunicates Effectively - Clear, concise, and professional in communication.\nDecision Quality - Considers various inputs, criteria, and trade-offs to arrive at effective decisions and recommendations.\nEnsures accountability - Follows through on commitments.\nManages Ambiguity - Accepts needed change despite the uncertainty it brings.\nHSEC ACCOUNTABILITIES:\nEmployees are responsible for performing all tasks in accordance with relevant HSEC Site Procedures, so as to work Everyone in the workplace is responsible for his or her own safety and for the safety of their co-workers.
