This is a hybrid development role requiring strong front-end engineering capability together with demonstrable, hands-on experience of designing, building and deploying AI agents and AI-enabled applications.\n\nThis is an exciting opportunity to build the next generation of digital products, production-ready AI agents and intelligent user experiences that will support one of the UK's most significant infrastructure programmes. The successful candidate will bring practical AI development experience-not simply experience of using generative AI tools to produce code.\n\nWorking alongside our AI Lead, Azure Data Engineer and Power Platform specialists, you'll design and develop modern web applications, dashboards, AI-enabled solutions and intelligent agents that bring together enterprise data, automation and Microsoft technologies.\nYou will use platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Microsoft Fabric and Azure AI Foundry to create agents that are secure, governed, grounded in trusted data and capable of integrating with business systems. You'll also help colleagues adopt M365 Copilot and purpose-built agents, driving responsible AI innovation across the business.\nWhat you'll be doing\nDesigning and building modern, responsive web applications and digital interfaces\nDesigning, building, testing and deploying AI agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry and related Microsoft agent technologies\nDeveloping agent workflows that use enterprise data, APIs, actions, orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation and appropriate human oversight\nGrounding AI solutions in trusted organisational data, including data and services delivered through Microsoft Fabric and Azure\nIntegrating AI agents and AI-enabled applications securely with business systems, APIs and Microsoft 365 services\nApplying responsible AI, security, access control, testing, monitoring and governance throughout the AI solution lifecycle\nCreating intuitive front-end experiences through which users can interact effectively with AI agents, insights and automated processes\nWorking with enterprise data to deliver dashboards, reporting tools and embedded analytics\nCollaborating with Power Platform specialists to create seamless user experiences across multiple technologies\nEvaluating agent quality and performance, including accuracy, grounding, safety, usability and business outcomes.\nSupporting the controlled adoption of M365 Copilot, gathering user feedback and maintaining technical guidance, documentation and training materials\nContributing to agile delivery, code reviews, testing and continuous improvement initiatives\nEstablishing reusable patterns, components and development standards for scalable AI agent delivery.\nWhat you'll bring\nEssential:\nDemonstrable hands-on experience of designing, building, testing and deploying AI agents or AI-enabled applications in a professional environment\nPractical experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry or comparable enterprise AI agent platforms\nExperience integrating agents with enterprise data, APIs, business systems, actions or automated workflows\nUnderstanding of agent architecture and development concepts such as grounding, retrieval-augmented generation, orchestration, prompt design, tool use, evaluation and human oversight\nKnowledge of responsible AI, data security, access controls, monitoring and governance considerations for production AI solutions\nStrong front-end development experience using HTML, CSS and JavaScript\nExperience with modern frameworks such as React, Angular or similar\nA passion for creating accessible, user-focused and visually engaging digital experiences\nKnowledge of web application development, APIs, authentication and cloud-based technologies\nExperience with GitHub and collaborative software development practices\nKnowledge of Azure services and integration approaches\nExperience working with dashboards, analytics or data-driven applications\nAn interest in AWS technologies and a willingness to develop AWS skills.\nDesirable:\nExperience of Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI services, M365 Copilot or related Microsoft technologies would be highly advantageous\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Power Platform would be advantageous.\n Why Join East West Rail?\n\nAt East West Rail, you'll have the opportunity to apply your front-end and AI engineering experience to meaningful projects that make a real difference.
