Senior Payroll Officer

Easygo is the Australian technology powerhouse behind global brands Stake, KICK, and Easygo Gaming. As we continue to grow our presence in Serbia, we’re strengthening our local People & Culture operations and looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join us in Belgrade.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of payroll operations for our Serbian entities, Easygo Tech Europe and MB Care, supporting 200+ employees while working closely with our local People & Culture and Finance teams, as well as our global team in Melbourne.

You’ll play an important role in bringing our payroll operations in-house - leading the transition from an external payroll provider to Pantheon, improving data accuracy, and helping us build more efficient and consistent payroll processes as the business continues to grow.

The Role

As Senior Payroll Officer, you’ll be a key member of our People & Culture team, responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing across our Serbian entities.

The role combines hands-on payroll management with HR administration, systems integration, and process improvement. You’ll work closely with local and global stakeholders, support employees with payroll-related queries, and contribute to the development of our internal payroll operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Payroll Processing: Manage monthly payroll processing for 200+ employees across Easygo Tech and MB Care, ensuring accuracy, timely payments, and compliance with Serbian regulations and internal policies.
• Payroll Compliance: Maintain accurate payroll records and supporting documentation in line with Serbian payroll and accounting regulations, ensuring readiness for tax and labour inspections.
• Payroll Reporting: Assist with month-end reconciliations and prepare payroll-related reports and documentation, working closely with Finance.
• HR Administration: Manage payroll-related HR administration, including employee registrations, deregistrations and changes through CROSO, sick leave administration via eBolovanje/RFZO, and relevant processes through ePorezi.
• Employee Support: Act as a key point of contact for payroll-related queries, ensuring employees receive accurate information and timely support.
• Payroll Changes: Collaborate with People & Culture to ensure accurate and timely processing of new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, leave, overtime, and other payroll changes.
• Contractor Payments: Process contractor invoices, reconcile vendor accounts, resolve discrepancies, and manage queries related to contractor payments.
• Payroll Transformation: Support the transition from an external payroll provider to an in-house payroll function using Pantheon, working closely with implementation partners and internal teams.
• Systems Integration: Support and maintain the integration between HiBob and Pantheon, ensuring employee data, leave, overtime, and salary changes flow accurately between systems.
• Process Improvement: Identify and resolve data inconsistencies between HR and payroll systems, improve data accuracy, and help automate payroll processes across both Serbian entities.

Who You Are

• Payroll Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Serbian payroll processing.
• Serbian Payroll Expert: Strong knowledge of Serbian payroll and accounting regulations, with experience ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing.
• Systems Knowledge: Working knowledge of Pantheon or a strong willingness and ability to quickly learn the system.
• Excel Skills: Good knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and lookup functions.
• Attention to Detail: Highly accurate and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on ensuring payroll and financial data is correct.
• Organised & Reliable: Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities.
• Clear Communicator: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across People & Culture, Finance, and external partners.
• English Proficiency: Excellent command of English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate confidently with international stakeholders.

Bonus points if you also have:

• Payroll Transformation: Experience transitioning payroll from an external provider to an in-house or ERP-based payroll system.
• HR Systems: Experience with HiBob or a comparable HRIS, particularly integrating employee data, leave, overtime, and salary changes with payroll processing.
• Financial Reporting: Exposure to Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) concepts, including cost-centre allocations and departmental cost reporting.
• Accounting Knowledge: A basic understanding of general accounting principles.
