In this lead position your responsibilities & activities will include:\nTeam Management:\nEnsure coverage of all shifts. Coordinate breaks, vacations, and expected absences to keep the machines running according with the production plan.\nTrain the operators and ensure the procedures are understood and followed.\nMeet periodically with the team and address any issues occurring on the shift.\nAssess individual teams’ member performance on a periodic basis.\nKeep track and share performance results with the team.\nDaily communicate and refresh extrusion production targets and relevant information.\nApply disciplinary actions when needed.\nEnforce company policy, especially in regards Safety, Quality and Productivity.\nDevelopment of team members to fullest potential. Providing tools and training to increase their level of performance.\nProcess and Procedures:\nEnsure all procedures are being safely followed.\nContinuous monitor sheet quality and machine throughput.\nReport productivity and waste generated (edge trim size, purging and rolls to grind).\nEnsure all written procedures are available to the operators. Report missing procedures to Process Engineering.\nAssist and improve processes to ensure smooth operation of the extruders.\nTroubleshoot Process and equipment (communicate machine issues to maintenance).\nDocument process changes and/or Issues. Responsible for communicating these changes.\nMaterial management:\nEnsure the material received matches the order.\nDocument the materials entering the machines (leave sample).\nDaily inventory of the materials inside the plant (regrind, bottle flake, ground purging’s, PCR, additives and others).\nDaily inventory of extrusion consumables.\nEnsure all the gaylords are weight and properly labeled.\nIdentify nonconformance materials and follow reaction procedure (must notify Process engineer immediately).\nProductivity:\nMeets sheet specifications.\nEnsure the extruders perform at their Target or maximum capacity.\nReport Production to the Plant Manager.\nReduce and eradicate extruders’ downtime (ensure continuous operations).\nMaintenance:\nAssist maintenance in scheduled PM’s and nonscheduled repairs such as breakdowns.\nMust immediately notify Maintenance department of any concern or malfunction of the machines.\nEnsure all the operational filters are being serviced and daily PMS are done by the operators (assist maintenance team if needed).\nDocument Maintenance activities within extrusion.\nGeneral:\nIn the absence of an operator, the Extrusion Lead should also run a machine.\nMake recommendations and report equipment inconsistencies.\nContinuous Improvement and Safety.\nMake recommendations to improve productivity.\nMake recommendations to improve team performance.\nMust attend safety committee meetings when requested.\nMake recommendations to improve processes and procedures.\nKeep the production area clean and organized following 5S practices.\nMust ensure a safe work environment, resolve safety concerns, and report to the Plant Manager any safety concerns.\nMust ensure all hygiene procedures are followed, resolve hygiene concerns within the area, and report to the Plant Manager any hygiene concerns beyond his/her ability to resolve.\nContinuously look for ways to improve the efficiency, quality, safety, and hygiene of the operation.\nPerform any activity necessary for the company to meet the needs of its customers.\nShould be flexible with his/her schedule to meet production needs.\nYou won’t find a better opportunity like the one you’ll find with Easypak. Now, here’s what we need from you:\nHS Diploma or GED required.
