The Application Engineer will be required to gain a deep technical understanding of DC power systems and be able to provide excellent customer technical support and guidance on Eaton DC products. This includes producing build packages and supporting Production manufacturing. The role will also require assisting Sales to quote for new opportunities and provide customers internally and externally with engineering support in areas of design, regulatory compliance, and cost.\nEnsure you are familiar with the company’s range of DC products. \nEnsure familiarity with the DC market and competitors technology. \nTo be prepared to travel within the UK or abroad outside working hours when required.\nTo ‘configure to order’ DC systems based on a standard range of products and components. \nTo ‘design and configure’ products and solutions to new customer requirements.\nTo assist sales with technical input to quotations.\nTo be an internal / external technical point of contact for DC products and solutions. \nTo learn local MRP system and be able to create new part numbers and compile Bill of Materials (BOMs). \nGenerate build packages for each job incorporating adequate information for the product to be manufactured.\nUse AutoCAD and Visio where required to draw circuit diagrams and layouts of the products. \nSupport manufacturing and test activities.\nUnderstand and create circuit diagrams, line schematics and cable wiring details.\nUnderstand and experienced in working to BS7671, 18th Edition wiring regulations. \nKnowledge of EN62368 safety standard and other relevant regulatory standards.\nGenerate associated customer documentation for products including install manuals, operation guides, maintenance procedures, method statements and commissioning documents.\nCreate training packages and deliver training on Eaton DC products to Planners, Installers, Operations and Maintenance personnel.\nCollaborate and cooperate with team members to accomplish shared goals. \nImprove business and departmental processes.\nBe quality focused.\nDrive Engineering cost out initiatives through the business.\nComplete all training as required by the business.\nWork closely with Product Managers, Sales Support and Operations.\nCollaborate with Engineering teams outside the local business.\nSupport the Sales organization within UK/EMEA.\nUK/International travel (mainly UK/EMEA region and typically 10-25 days/year). \nQualifications:\nUniversity Degree or ONC/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.\nBS7671 Wiring Regulations (minimum 18th edition). \nElectrical Engineering Apprenticeship.\"\nMinimum 3 years Electrical Engineering experience\nSkills:\nWorking in electrical/electronic design/manufacturing environment.\nKnowledge of electrical installation & commissioning.\nKnowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and Outlook.\nElectrical circuit design.\nMechnical design principles.\nFault finding & testing electrical circuits.\nBill of Material creation.\nDefining components and specifications.\nUse of ERP/MRP systems.\nAutoCAD/Visio to create circuit diagrams (essential).\nSolidworks 3D modelling (an advantage).\"\nArticulate in both written and verbal communications.\nAbility to work autonomously.\nDrive and determination.\nWork on own initiative.\nMulti-tasking and able to work to challenging project milestones. \nAbility to develop a creative approach to problem solving.\nAbility to work under pressure and meet work deadlines.\nBe prepared to take accountability for one’s actions.\nFlexibility of working hours.\nReport writing.\nComply with the companies’ code of ethics. \nWhat We Offer\nCompetitive compensation and benefits package\nChallenging projects in dynamic collaborative team\nWe make your aspirations matter - Eaton encourages internal promotion, whenever possible\nWe make your growth matter - We invest in our employees for the long term - not just with salary and benefits, but with ongoing learning and development opportunities made available through Eaton University.\nWe make your contributions matter - reliability, safety, efficiency, and sustainability are at the core of our dedication to improving people’s lives and the environment through power management technologies.\nWe make your wellbeing matter - We put your health and safety first.
