The salary for this role ranges from $22.15 - $37.50 per hour.\nPosition Overview:\nAre you passionate for innovation and disruptive technology? Our Engineering and Technology Internship Program may be for you! Over the course of this 12-week paid internship, Interns will engage in projects that hold tangible significance for our business while receiving guidance and mentorship from Eaton's esteemed leaders.\nThe Engineering and Technology Internship Program- Embedded Systems track will provide exposure to a combination of hardware and software product development support opportunities. Assignments will either be supporting a specific business unit/product line or working with broader technologies across the enterprise. Our strategic teams in this area are working on cutting edge technologies including:\nIoT product application and development\nFirmware and software development for micro-controllers\nDevelopment of embedded hardware for power distribution products\nAnd more! \nAfter completion of the internship program, your technical skills combined with your newly acquired business acumen will prepare you to be considered for Eaton’s Engineering and Technology Development Programs upon graduation.\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications:\nActively enrolled or received a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, or computer science from an accredited institution\nMinimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8\nMust be geographically flexible to relocate within the United States\nEaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship orsupport for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience in embedded systems and exposure to software languages including C, C++, Java, and/or Python\nMinimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 \nPrior internship or co-op experience\nDemonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or community \nDemonstrated exposure to machine learning or AI concepts through coursework, internships, research, or personal projects including experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot), experience in prompt engineering, and working with generative AI models and simulation tools\nPosition Criteria:\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively explain technical concepts \nThis role may include travel (up to 25%) within a local region as determined by the Engineering & Technology Assignment Manager\nDemonstrate geographic flexibility to relocate within the United States for the duration of the Internship Program to an Eaton facility including (but not limited to): Raleigh, NC; Pittsburgh, PA; or Milwaukee, WI\nTransportation to and from the worksite and for incidental business travel is the responsibility of the intern; however, expenses for required and approved business travel (not including the worksite) will be reimbursed\nThe summer internship culminates with a formal presentation where students showcase their success stories to leaders of the organization and receive feedback on their performance\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
