Eaton’s Mission Systems division manufactures mission critical components for commercial aircraft, military life support systems, and aerial refueling products. As one of the Top 20 major employers in the Quad Cities, we are growing and hiring for an EHS Manager.\nThe EHS Manager will develop, implement, and drive programs to enable the facility to meet regulatory and corporate requirements. The EHS Manager supports the creation of a strong culture that engages employees in the achievement of the company’s goal of a “Zero Incident” Culture.\nThis role is accountable for: directing EHS activities at the location, establishing EHS objectives and targets; internal reporting of EHS performance; communication of national, area, and local regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for: maintaining ISO 14001 certification; assuring accurate and complete EHS reporting of metrics; assuring closure of MESH and regulatory agency findings on a timely basis; completion of required training for EHS personnel; managing interfaces with the public and governmental authorities with adverse findings and enforcement actions; directing actions during crises; creating a strong EHS culture that engages employees throughout the site.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead the creation of the site EHS targets and objectives in support of corporate, regional and business group EHS strategic initiatives designed to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results.\nDrives preventative and proactive action projects to mitigate and eliminate risks through root cause identification and corrective actions for environmental, safety and health activities.\nEnsures that the federal, state, and local EHS regulations are met including air, land, and water to provide a safe working environment for employees, and a clean and healthful environment for the community.\nWork to assign MESH cross-functional element champions and facilitate their engagement in ownership of the MESH elements.\nUse established EHS data processes to manage data such as injuries and illnesses, environmental metrics, risk assessments, EHS action items and other pertinent information.\nWork with site leadership team and facilities to ensure that all key EHS operational controls are in place, on a PM program, and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis.\nProvide technical oversight to ensure compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations including: RCRA, SWPPP, SPCC, CAA, CWA, etc.\nEnsure environmental compliance reports are submitted accurately and on time.\nServe as liaison with applicable external regulatory agencies during compliance audits.\nDevelop and manage compliance trainings and site-wide communications to address near misses, incidents, and to promote employee engagement.\nProvide guidance and support for the Eaton’s Management of Change Program. (facilities changes, chemical reviews and process changes).\nMotivate and drive culture change toward zero incident EHS culture.\nManage and support EHS Training Plan\nAll other related duties as assigned.\nQualifications:\nBasic (Required) Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution\nMinimum of (5) five years’ experience working in an Environmental, Health & Safety or related discipline within a manufacturing environment.\nEaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
