We are committed to powering Canadian infrastructure in an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient way and are looking to hire passionate individuals who are enthusiastic about shaping the future of Eaton.\nThis position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.\nWhat you’ll do:\nReporting to the Production Manager - Custom Switchboard, this role is responsible for wiring control panels for engineered-to-order switchboards. Candidates must have at least 1 year of experience in roles where wiring was the primary responsibility.\nThis role is not a fit for those who have never wired in a full-time capacity, have only wired using harnesses or following point to point diagrams, or have only wired when installing, maintaining or servicing commercial or residential electrical systems.\nSpecifically, the successful candidate will:\nBuild and wire control panels using one-line diagrams and customer drawing packages.\nDetermine how and where to run, connect and terminate wires for electrical devices on wiring pans and inside switchboard structures. (Common devices include breakers, meters, relays, sensors, PLCs, switches, CTs, sensors)\nIdentify design issues and raise them through the correct channels.\nPerform functional tests such as continuity checks and wire pull tests.\nRepair or rework issues detected during the inspection/test stage of the job.\nPosition Criteria:\nProven aptitude for complex wiring work.\nMust be able to speak, read and write English effectively.\nStrong work ethic.\nAble to visualize and plan the layout of a wiring control panel using ladder logic.\nExcellent attitude towards quality, safety, continuous improvement and teamwork.\nFunctional with computers, in order to use a variety of digital business tools (email, ADP, electronic models, eLearning modules).\nQualifications:\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalency.\nMinimum 12 months experience in a full-time wiring position.\nExperience using wiring and power tools.\nLegally eligible to work in Canada without company sponsorship now and in the future.\nNo relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must reside within 80 KM of Milton, ON to be considered.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPost-secondary education or a technical certificate in a mechanical trade.\nExperience using Outlook, ADP, Oracle and Inventor.\nKnowledge of Lean manufacturing processes (Kanban, 5S+, MRB) and Six Sigma Tools.\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for job applicants and employees.
