The engineer will work closely with Global Procurement, Product Engineering, manufacturing plants, and suppliers to identify, develop, and implement technically and commercially viable savings opportunities. The role requires hands-on understanding of sheet-metal materials, stamping and fabrication processes, tooling, part-cost drivers, manufacturability, and supplier capabilities. Key activities include commodity spend and part-cost analysis, value analysis/value engineering, design and material optimization, process improvement, resourcing, negotiation support, supplier consolidation, and part rationalization. The engineer will build and maintain a robust pipeline of executable projects while ensuring that proposed changes meet product performance, quality, manufacturability, and regulatory requirements.\n\"List the essential functions (i.e. key responsibilities with expected end results) which must be accomplished in order to fulfill the purpose of your position as described above.\nA. Execute the enterprise wide strategic costoptimization, continious improvement projects for Fabrication, Sheet Steel and Stamping categories\nB. Execute VAVE, Resourcing, Negotiation, and Part Rationalization initiatives to achieve cost-out targets.\nC. Generate technically and commercially viable cost reduction ideas to enhance product competitiveness.\nD. Drive productivity through supplier consolidation, data quality improvements, and reduction of part proliferation\nE. Participate in supplier, plant level discussions to identify innovative solutions and cost-out opportunities.\nF. Analyze commodity spend data and leverage data analytics to create productivity project pipelines\nG. Collaborate globally with Procurement, Product Engineering, and Suppliers to deliver savings and category productivity goals.\nH. Partner with Product Engineering teams to evaluate material substitutions, design optimization, standardization, and value engineering opportunities while ensuring compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.\nI. Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on lead time reduction, scrap optimization, process efficiency, and cost productivity across the supply base and manufacturing operations.\n\"\nQualifications:\nMinimum education for this position is a Bachelor / Masters in Mechanical Engineering,Electrical Engineering with demonstrated experience in technical engineering organization. (Preferably worked in Electical industry)\n3-5 years of experience with multinational engineering organization\nSkills\n\"Hands on knowledge of Value Engineering principles & its deployment (prominantly on stamping components)\n\"\nWork & interact with global cross-functional and cross-cultural team.
