# Engineer - DMP

What you’ll do: The primary responsibility of this role is to drivie Cost optimization,Continious improvment projects for fabrication, sheet-steel and stamping commodities. The engineer will work closely with Global Procurement, Product Engineering, manufacturing plants, and suppliers to identify, develop, and implement technically and commercially viable savings opportunities. The role requires hands-on understanding of sheet-metal materials, stamping and fabrication processes, tooling, part-cost drivers, manufacturability, and supplier capabilities. Key activities include commodity spend and part-cost analysis, value analysis/value engineering, design and material optimization, process improvement, resourcing, negotiation support, supplier consolidation, and part rationalization. The engineer will build and maintain a robust pipeline of executable projects while ensuring that proposed changes meet product performance, quality, manufacturability, and regulatory requirements.
