This position can be based in Arden, NC, Fayetteville, NC, Charlotte, NC or Greenwood, SC.\nPosition Overview:\nReporting to the Director Engineering for the Power Distribution and Assemblies Division (PDCA) business, this person will be responsible for Sustaining Engineering/Maintenance of Line (MOL) across the entire PDCA portfolio: Medium Voltage Assemblies (MVA), Low Voltage Assemblies (LVA), Medium Voltage Control Assemblies (MVCA) and Motor Control Centers (MCC). The PDCA business is a $2 billion, 3,500 employee business across North America, with 8 manufacturing locations.\nThis person will lead a divisional sustaining engineering organization covering Quality, Codes & Compliance, Product Improvement and MOL for all PDCA manufacturing plants. The Engineering Leader will bring MOL engineers together under common standards, processes and priorities while keeping them closely aligned with Manufacturing Operations. The leader will build a shared engineering bench across sites in the U.S. and India.\nEssential Functions:\nDefine and own the multi-year sustaining and MOL roadmap for the PDCA portfolio, aligned with the Director of Engineering's priorities and divisional business plans.\nLead the transition of MOL engineers from Operations into R&D Engineering while maintaining uninterrupted support to every plant.\nDrive product quality and field issue resolution in partnership with plant quality\nEnsure codes, standards and certification compliance across the portfolio\nGovern Engineering change management and configuration control\nIdentify end-of-life components and supplier-driven changes early and put mitigation plans in place before production is affected.\nLead alternate-source qualification with Supply Chain, including technical evaluation, testing and certification impact.\nDrive product improvements that strengthen manufacturability, reliability, safety and customer experience.\nDeploy one divisional intake and prioritization process for requests from plants, Product Management and Customer Order Engineering.\nImplement common sustaining engineering processes, tools and templates across every site\nPartner across the engineering lifecycle with NPD, VAVE and Systems Engineering\nRecruit, develop and retain sustaining engineering managers, leads and engineers across the NA and India\nRequired Qualifications:\nMinimum of 10 years of engineering experience, including at least 5 years leading people and teams.\nExperience in sustaining or product engineering within electrical power distribution or control equipment manufacturing.\nWorking knowledge of product codes, standards and certification processes\nExperience with switchgear, motor control centers, or low and medium-voltage assemblies is preferred\nLegally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship\nEaton Leadership Attributes:\nEffectively drives and manages change, challenges the status quo and champions new and innovative ideas.\nDemonstrates professional presence, communicates articulately and confidently.\nEffectively leverages functional and cross-functional resources to solve problems, improve processes and meet objectives.\nDemonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills.\nDemonstrated success in effectively and confidently providing “leadership” to employees in a constantly changing environment.\nEducation:\nAn undergraduate degree is required.
