This position is based in Raleigh, NC at the Raleigh Plant Operations facility.\nAs a Failure Analysis Technician, you will be a key member of the Raleigh Plant Operations team, responsible for troubleshooting and analyzing product failures to identify root causes and drive corrective actions. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, Test, and Production teams to improve product reliability and manufacturing performance through detailed failure investigations, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. In this role, you will help ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence while supporting the development of robust solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and product performance.\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is: $56,000 - $83,000 a year.\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.\nWhat you’ll do:\nTroubleshoot/ Screen failed components from systems test and identify and complete any rework needed \nAnalyze failures to determine root cause and suggest corrective actions\nDevelop test plans for analysis of any new product components and coordinate any new functional testing capabilities\nReview product operational event and history logs to facilitate failure analysis\nDocument failure information including root cause and possible corrective and preventive actions as a feedback loop to improve product quality and provide input to new product development processes\nManage Failure Analysis area logistics including transportation of material, material transactions, and disposition of product \nSupport/ Maintain test equipment in accordance with calibration system requirements\nCollaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, test, and production\nServe as plant champion of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controls\nMaintain 5S+ in the work areas associated with the failure analysis process\nFoster an environment that promotes Eaton’s financial and aspirational goals, encouraging continuous improvement through participation and teamwork\nAssist in facilitating and supporting company internal and external audits\nMaintain internal documentation control system of all company processes and procedures\nAdhere to all environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures and work procedures\nQualifications:\nBasic Qualifications:\nAssociates Degree or Certificate in Electronics Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering Technology \nMinimum 2 years of experience in troubleshooting electronic equipment\nProficient in Microsoft Office applications, web-based information, and documentation systems\nAbility to read, understand and interpret product drawings, manufacturing documents and electronic schematics \nRelocation Assistance is not available for this position. Only candidates within a 60-mile radius of Raleigh, NC, will be considered\nMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship\nPreferred:\nBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Electrical and Computer Engineering from an accredited educational institution\nExperience in failure analysis of electronic systems to root cause and identification of corrective actions \n5 years of experience in troubleshooting electronic equipment\nPCBA Failure Analysis experience \nPrevious work experience of problem-solving methods such as: Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis, and the associated statistical tools used to analyze problems, evaluate, and complete improvement projects.\nCertification in IPC-A-610 standard\nKnowledge of Quality standards, ISO-9001\nSAP Experience\nSkills:\nElectrical technical knowledge of troubleshooting/failure analysis of failures down to the component level on printed circuit boards to determine root cause based on findings and test information of failures\nMust have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills\nGood knowledge of analog and digital electronic circuit theory, and communications with external equipment and software applications\nAbility to perform tests and utilize test equipment needed based on information of failures\nGood written and oral communication skills\nProactive team player able to work with Test, Quality and Engineers in finding root cause for failures.\nIndependently setting priorities based on failure analysis product needs \nAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
