This role reports to the Software Development Manager - Avionics.\nThe primary purpose of the position is to develop and support embedded software in C for Air to Air Refuelling (AAR) pods used in hose and drogue refuelling systems. The role also includes creating and maintaining\nassociated documentation and ensuring full compliance with relevant engineering processes, tools, andRTCA DO 178B/C standards.\nThis is a junior-level position with a strong growth path. The successful candidate will be supported and developed to eventually take on the following responsibilities:\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and maintain embedded C software to meet system and customer requirements.\nUse a range of engineering tools across the entire software lifecycle, including:\nConfiguration Management\nRequirements Management\nSoftware Design and Modelling\nTraceability tools\nStatic Analysis\nSoftware Build tools\nMicrosoft Office\nUnderstanding of software test and verification tools and techniques\n Apply and comply with engineering processes and standards, including RTCA DO 178B/C and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles.\nPresent engineering materials clearly to different audiences, adapting content and technical depth appropriately.\nQualifications:\nMinimum Graduate in relevant degree\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related discipline.\nUniversity project relating to software engineer, home automation or practical experiments desirable.\nSkills:\nKnowledge of the C programming language (or other similar language).\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nConfident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.\nAdaptable, proactive, and eager to learn.\nStrong analytical and problem solving abilities.\nThe successful applicant will be in contact with US ITAR controlled technology, goods, and information.
