This position will support research and new product development.\nThe Lead Systems Engineer is responsible for requirements management, system architecture development, and supporting system integration and test. The candidate will provide technical oversight and guidance to other SE engineers based in US and in Global Teams as well as serve as an individual contributor. The product and systems are thermal fluid and dynamic mechanical systems that support aerospace applications. These aerospace applications are diverse and include space life support and propulsion, aircraft oxygen and refueling, and weapons storage and release systems. The Lead Systems Engineer should be self-motivated to proactively learn about the technical domain of the given system and identify how and where the systems engineering discipline can create the highest value. Similarly, the candidate should have experience tailoring systems engineering practices to program scope and need. Finally, the candidate should work as a member and partner of the product team generating SE work products and providing technical guidance to incorporate systems engineering methodologies. Other critical skills include technical leadership, project execution, and team collaboration. This is a remote position, with a hybrid requirement for candidates located within 50 miles of Davenport, IA.\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $97000 - $143000 a year. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.\nEssential Functions:\nSupport Bid & Proposal Efforts:\nReview customer requirements documents\nDefine areas of risk and updates\nDevelop SE estimates tailored to scope/need\nCollaborate with product team to manage requirements:\nWrite, allocate, and trace.\nDevelop system/subsystem specifications.\nCreate and manage verification matrices.\nCollaborate with product team to define system architecture:\nDefine the physical, functional, and behavioral models.\nUse Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) when appropriate.\nIdentify interfaces between systems and subsystems.\nSupport the product team with integration and test efforts:\nAlign/synergize modeling and simulation analysis and test plans\nIdentify technical integration risks and mitigation strategies.\nEnsure full coverage of requirements, and system architecture.\nSupport Eaton Aerospace Process development:\nContribute to team defining standard work document.\nDevelop process to identify level of systems engineering required for programs.\nDevelop metrics to measure SE process implementation.\nProvide Systems Engineering Technical Leadership Within Assigned Programs:\nMentor less-experienced systems engineers and contribute to skills assessments and training plans.\nTailor Systems Engineering implementation plans to assigned program scope, risk, and value.\nRecommend appropriate Systems Engineering methods and work products in collaboration with program leadership and senior technical authorities.\nQualifications:\nRequired Basic Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline from an accredited institution.\nMinimum of five (5) years of experience in aerospace industry as System Engineer.\nMinimum of one (1) year of experience with MBSE using SySML language.\nLeader on engineering product team creating and delivering SE work products.\nDemonstrated ability to balance SE discipline with product teams.\nEaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
