In 2025, Fibrebond was acquired by Eaton, expanding Eaton’s modular solutions portfolio while preserving Fibrebond’s strong engineering expertise, customer focus, and manufacturing operations in Louisiana.\nWhat you’ll do:\nThe Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining the mechanical concerns of all concrete producing equipment. Concrete producing equipment includes the batch plant, carousel, elevator, conflex buckets, casting machines, vibration stations, cross-wagons, conveyor systems, material storage bins and silos. They initiate parts orders with their supervisor and assistant supervisor as necessary.\nIn this role, you will:\nConduct daily checks on all concrete producing equipment to ensure proper operation. \nMake repairs to all mechanical devices. This includes gearboxes, conveyor belts, motor removal and replacement, bearing change-outs, etc.\nPerform routine lubrication duties as scheduled in the maintenance software.\nWork with production employees to ensure smooth carousel operation.\nMonitor moving parts for proper wear pattern. Communicate any anomalies to production foreman.\nPerform other duties as required by Maintenance Supervisor. This may include helping the maintenance mechanics, bldg. and grounds crews, maintenance electricians, etc.\nQualifications:\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.\nMinimum of 3 years of mechanical experience in a production environment.\nMust possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.\nEaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience welding and using a weld torch.\nSkills:\nBasic electrical knowledge preferred.\nMust be familiar w/items such as belts, bearings, pulleys, chains, sprockets, etc.\nMust be able to certify on a forklift.\nMust be proficient with a wide variety of hand tools.\nMust be mentally focused and detailed.\nMust understand the principles of “cause and affect”.\nMust be good w/metal working tools such as drills, lathes, mills, etc.\nMust have a good understanding of and the ability to troubleshoot hydraulic systems.\nAbility to maintain confidential trade secrets.\nAbility to work overtime when required.\nPhysical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):\n1. Must follow all safety guidelines. Job requires wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. safety glasses, steel-toe footwear, earplugs, etc. Must wear a hardhat, gloves and safety harness when needed.\n2. Exposed to seasonal temperatures throughout the year. Must be able to operate miscellaneous hand and power tools.\n3. Must be able to grasp objects with fingers such as tools, small parts, wire connectors, wires, etc. Job requires moderate repetitive motion of wrist.\n4. Employee is required to stand for short periods of time and to stoop or crouch occasionally. Must be able to work in a variety of positions. Must be able to work at substantial heights when working with aerial equipment. Also requires bending at the waist and legs occasionally. Job occasionally requires climbing stepladder. Job requires considerable walking in going from place to place within the facility and on the premises.\n5. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds frequently. Job also requires exerting force up to 50 pounds occasionally.\n6. Good eyesight and color perception.\n7. Subject to noise, dirt, and heat.
