Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.\nWhat you’ll do:\nAssist with the design and execution of complex medium-voltage switchgear solutions, supporting New Product Development (NPD) projects. Work with lead engineers to support product design, project execution, customer support, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver innovative, manufacturable, and cost-effective solutions.\n\nEssential Responsibilities\nSupport the mechanical design and development of medium-voltage switchgear products and assemblies.\nDevelop 3D models, engineering drawings, BOMs, and product documentation using CAD and PLM systems.\nCollaborate with Front End Engineering and Customer Order Engineering teams to generate BOMs and material demands for standard product content on customer orders at product launch.\nSupport complex NPD engineering projects from concept through release.\nParticipate in design reviews, technical problem-solving, testing, and validation activities.\nBuild engineering prototypes to facilitate design reviews and product testing.\nCollaborate with engineering, operations, sourcing, quality, manufacturing teams, and EESS to ensure successful project execution and product launch.\nDrive product improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and engineering process enhancements.\nSupport technology development, product architecture, and innovation initiatives.\nEnsure compliance with applicable engineering standards, quality systems, and safety requirements.\nQualifications:\nBasic Qualifications:\nAssociate’s degree from an accredited intuition or high school diploma with minimum 3 years of experience with medium voltage switchgear experience\nEaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar 3D CAD software.\nExperience creating engineering drawings, BOMs, and change documentation.\nExperience designing medium-voltage switchgear, GIS/AIS products, or related power distribution equipment.\nKnowledge of IEEE switchgear standards and product development processes.\nExperience with PLM systems, engineering analysis, and product validation.\nDemonstrated leadership of complex technical projects and cross-functional teams.\nSkills:\nPosition Criteria:\nStrong technical knowledge and project management skills.\nEffective communication and customer engagement skills.\nAbility to balance performance, quality, manufacturability, cost, and schedule objectives.\nSelf-directed, collaborative, and results oriented.\nKnowledge of sheet metal design and manufacturing processes.\nAbility to perform hands-on work building prototypes for evaluation and testing.\nTravel:\nUp to 25% travel.\nAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
