The company is a leader in the design and production of critical power distribution products for many specific segments. The Production Assembler - 1st Shift role offers a full-time work week of 40 hours and potential overtime. Hours: 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM. Full benefits and a 401(k) plan are offered on day one of employment. The hourly rate for this position is $24.75 per hour. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.\nWhat you'll do\nThe Assembler will timely and accurately build sub-assemblies and assemblies to customer specifications involving complex and repetitive wiring and mechanics for Power Distribution Units (PDU) and transformers.\nIn this function you will:\nFollow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to build sub-assemblies and assemblies.\nUse cranes to pick up and move transformers and materials.\nBe responsible for visual inspections of material before and after assembly.\nUse various fixtures, gauges, hand tools, and power tools to assemble, adjust, or repair product.\nPerform point-to-point wiring during the assembly of Power Distribution Units.\nWork with sheet metal to build transformer legs and additional components related to transformer assembly.\nAbility to operate oven and VPI tanks as part of the assembly process\nInspect completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and make necessary adjustments when required in order to meet quality goals.\nAdhere to company, environmental, health, and safety rules and regulations.\nProvide process and safety improvement ideas.\nEnsure machines and tools are properly calibrated and perform housekeeping duties as necessary using the principles of 5S+.\nQualifications:\nRequired (Basic)\nMust be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.\nNo relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.\nHigh School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.\n1 year of assembly experience\nPreferred\nExperience in production, packaging, or construction.\nPrevious experience with standard operating procedures.\nPrevious experience with product electrical assembly, maintenance, and/or repair.\nBasic working knowledge of and experience with computers.\nSkills:\nAbility to demonstrate working knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility.\nAbility to read and interpret standard operating procedures, wiring diagrams, and bills of material.\nAbility to work daily and/or weekend overtime, with willingness to flex/train in different areas as needed.\nAbility to lift, push, and pull 40 lbs.\nAbility to use a crane once fully trained to lift items.\nAbility to stand for extended periods of time.
