Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.\nWhat you’ll do:\nEaton is seeking a Production Technician for its Panelboard / Switchboard Satellite Operation. The Production Technician is responsible for a wide range of skills including: wire, assemble, fit and mount sub-assemblies, components, and standard fixed assemblies in electrical control equipment. Perform assembly required for test preparation and final inspection. Use established power checking procedures and equipment to verify electrical/mechanical integrity of units assembled. Perform all assignments within acceptable quantity and perfect quality requirements in keeping within assigned functions.\nIn this role, you will:\nThe Production Technician is responsible for a wide range of skills including: wire, assemble, fit and mount sub-assemblies, components, and standard fixed assemblies in electrical control equipment. Perform assembly required for test preparation and final inspection. Use established power checking procedures and equipment to verify electrical/mechanical integrity of units assembled. Perform all assignments within acceptable quantity and perfect quality requirements in keeping within assigned functions.\n\nAssemble panelboards and/or switchboards to customer specification based on electrical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and work instructions with the use of hand and power tools.\nInspect and test finished products to maintain quality standards and ensure conformance with specifications and codes.\nUse various tools, such as wire strippers and plyers to perform the electrical wiring assembly of panelboards and/or switchboards.\nMaintain expected progress of jobs in the area of assignment and communicate problem areas or part shortages.\nReceive and put away material; prepare finished products for shipment.\nPerform Lean Initiatives by recommending suggestions for improvement related to quality, work processes, and environmental safety and health. Maintain equipment, tools, and work area per established 5S guidelines.\nCross-train and flex across functions based on development and business needs.\nQualifications:\nBasic Qualifications:\nMinimum one year of experience in an assembly related role with the use of hand and/or power tools (experience in automotive repairs, construction, carpentry, or other assembly type environments will be considered) or completion of a one-year Technical School diploma from an accredited institution.\nNo relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the work location will be considered. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMust have a High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.\nCNC bus fabrication, press brake, or related experience.\nExperience with wiring diagrams, schematics, and power flow to install correct wires.\nExperience with measuring tools, torque tolerance, and hardware assembly.\nExperience using various tools including: manual/electric tools, drill press, press brake, fork truck, jib crane, template/fixtures, hand carts, tape measure, storage/packaging materials and prescribed safety equipment.\nSkills:\nPosition Criteria:\nMust be able to interact and contribute in a small team environment and ability to flex according to production demands.\nLift 35lbs. on a regular basis.\nMust be able to work overtime as required.\nMust be able to communicate effectively in all written and verbal formats (speech, writing, reading).\nAbility to follow manufacturing drawings and instructions.\nKeep yourself and teammates aware of health and safety practices and activities by actively observing fellow employee work practices and incorporating safety.\nActively participate in health and safety training and demonstrate competency based on training received.\nAttend and actively participate in site meetings and trainings. \nAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
