This is a hybrid role located at one of our approved facilities: Sumter SC, Greenwood SC, Asheville NC, or El Paso TX. Relocation assistance offered to qualified candidates within the United States.\nThe Senior Design Engineer is responsible for the achievement of standardization of engineering systems across the Eaton Panelboard and Switchboard product line operations. They will develop best-in-class products through state-of-the-art control schematics & wiring CAD systems. This role is also responsible for providing technical expertise on power distribution control circuits. The Senior Design Engineer is also responsible for supporting each of the nineteen Panelboard and Switchboard operational sites (Sumter, Juarez, El Paso, and 16 Satellites) about the design accuracy of new product that they launch.\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $113000 - $165000 a year.\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. It’s where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potential-and where you can help us reach ours.\nWhat you’ll do:\nBe the subject matter expert for protection & control systems, wiring and harness development\nWork with other divisions to develop automation around EPLAN schematics and wiring diagrams from Eaton’s Design Automation tool\nDevelop, design, validate, and manage the implementation of best-in-class power control circuit designs.\nAbility to translate internal and external customer requirements into measurable performance criteria.\nAssist in the development of the schedule and budget for new product development projects.\nDevelop technical communications: datasheets, interface control documents, test plans, etc.\nDesign, model, and test product prototypes.\nMaintain and improve existing products through design and competitive analysis.\nWork with other Eaton Electrical businesses as well as outside suppliers to develop new features and design opportunities for products within the product line scope and charter.\nIntegrate best practices from each functional team to deliver a high quality, best-in-class design.\nEnsure compliance to all applicable national and local electrical codes and standards as they relate to the products we produce (UL, NEC, NEMA, OSPHD).\nRepresent the product line as a lead technical consultant with respect to control wiring.\nYou will be a commercial & technical resource for the product line, including answering complex customer or field sales questions.\nQualifications:\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.\nMinimum seven (7) years of design experience with electrical distribution equipment and control systems\nEaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nTwo (2) years of experience designing products under UL 50, UL67, and UL 891 standards\nTwo (2) years of experience with EPLAN software package\nTwo (2) years of experience with Autodesk Inventor\nCertification for Design for Six Sigma\nSkills:\nPosition Criteria:\nGood verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.\nProficiency in Engineering software/tools (AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor & Enovia)\nProficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)\nExperience with Autodesk Inventor\nKnowledge of Product Life-cycle management systems and their structure\nFabrication methods for sheet metal, plastic, copper, and aluminum\nProper bus joint design\nUp to 25% of your time traveling\nAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
