Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.\nWhat you’ll do:\nThe Senior Electronics Engineer will be part of the Embedded Systems group and will lead verification and validation (V&V) activities for Eaton’s circuit breaker and protection systems.\nThe primary responsibilities of this role include:\nServe as the technical and project lead for verification and validation activities supporting new product development and existing product lines.\nLead the design, development, and implementation of test automation frameworks.\nProvide technical leadership, mentoring, and training to global V&V teams.\nLead and support continuous improvement initiatives related to V&V processes, methodologies, tools, and laboratory capabilities.\nEssential Functions\nDevelop and execute verification and validation strategies, plans, and procedures for embedded firmware, hardware, and system-level testing.\nAnalyze product requirements, functional specifications, and applicable industry standards to establish verification requirements and ensure complete requirements traceability.\nDesign, develop, automate, and maintain test cases, test scripts, and test frameworks for embedded protection systems.\nPerform functional, integration, system, regression, performance, and release testing for electronic trip units and associated circuit breaker products.\nValidate communication interfaces, industrial communication protocols, interoperability, and configuration software.\nDevelop and maintain automated test systems and laboratory equipment to improve test efficiency, repeatability, reliability, and coverage.\nInvestigate and reproduce hardware, firmware, and system-level defects, and perform root cause analysis to support effective resolution.\nReview system and software requirements, architecture, and design documentation to ensure testability and verification completeness.\nVerify product compliance with applicable UL, IEC, CSA, and ANSI standards, as well as Eaton engineering processes and requirements.\nMaintain comprehensive V&V documentation, including test plans, procedures, execution records, defect reports, traceability matrices, and validation reports.\nParticipate in design reviews, risk assessments, DFMEA activities, and technical reviews throughout the product development lifecycle.\nProvide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to V&V engineers and cross-functional engineering teams.\nDrive continuous improvement of verification methodologies, test automation, laboratory capabilities, and engineering best practices.\nSupport field issue investigations, customer problem resolution, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.\nCollaborate closely with firmware, hardware, systems engineering, manufacturing, quality, product management, and program management teams throughout the product development lifecycle.\nQualifications:\nBasic (Required) Qualifications:\nBachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution.\nMinimum of 2 years of working experience.\nExperience in testing automation framework design and development.\nMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future. \nPreferred Qualifications:\nStrong knowledge of electronics devices, specifically in trip units, meters, and protective relays.\nTesting experience with full cycle of product development.\nKnowledge of electrical power systems and communication protocols.\nExperiences on embedded firmware and hardware testing.\nExperiences on developing automation scripts and validating electrical products, specifically with Python and Labview. \nExperience of working with global engineering teams.\nWhat makes you successful:\nYou are self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage priorities, take ownership of your work, and overcome technical challenges.\nYou have strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, comprehensive test procedures, technical documentation, and reports.\nYou are an effective collaborator who can build strong working relationships across global and cross-functional engineering teams.\nYou stay current with firmware testing tools, technologies, and industry best practices, and proactively identify opportunities to improve testing processes and methodologies.\nYou bring strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills to complex engineering challenges.\nYou demonstrate sound engineering judgment and design skills, with the ability to develop practical and effective technical solutions.\nYou are willing and able to travel up to 10%.\nAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
