We make products for the data center, utility, industrial, commercial, machine building, residential, aerospace and mobility markets.\nWhat you’ll do:\nLead or participate in the design, development, testing, completion and launch of new products and extensions to existing ACB and MCCB product lines; collaborate with other CPC project teams on material application and sourcing activities from the R&D perspective.\nCollaborate with the mechanical engineering team to coach and support junior engineers in developing mechanical engineering capability and product knowledge; lead or participate in requirements analysis, design reviews and other team development activities.\nKeep abreast of emerging technologies and materials, and use engineering software tools to design and analyze product integrity in support of efficient product development.\nLead or participate in the review of product requirement specifications based on input from marketing and customers;\nGenerate product requirement specifications from Voice of Customer (VOC) input when required;\nDesign and develop new and innovative products in accordance with product specifications;\nLead or participate in new product testing in accordance with applicable standards and customer requirements, and complete the required technical documentation;\nSupport the launch of new products and product line extensions through the stage-gate process, such as PROLaunch;\nInvestigate and evaluate new materials and their appropriate application within the product line;\nApply knowledge of materials, with emphasis on plastic injection molding and metal stamping;\nConduct or support computer-based FEA and FMEA for new products, and use the results to improve product designs;\nProvide technical support to the industrialization team during production line setup;\nLead or participate in the investigation and resolution of customer complaints related to existing products;\nLead or participate in reviews of new product concepts and technology development trends;\nEstablish and maintain collaborative working relationships with cross-functional teams;\nPerform other duties as assigned;\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; master's degree preferred;\n5 or more years of experience in new product development within the low-voltage electromechanical field, preferably involving ACB and/or MCCB products;\nStrong experience in component design and material selection, including metals, non-ferrous materials and engineering plastics;\nSolid experience in the design and development of low-voltage circuit breaker products, especially ACB and/or MCCB products;\nExperience participating in or leading key new product development projects from concept through launch;\nAbility to take technical ownership of assigned workstreams, provide technical guidance and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams;\nGood understanding of low-voltage markets, especially data center and renewable energy applications;\nAbility to work effectively in a dynamic and constantly changing customer and market environment;\nProficient in Pro-E, Creo, AutoCAD or other mechanical design tools;\nSolid understanding of low-voltage applications and the ability to support the resolution of complex customer issues;\nGood understanding of relevant manufacturing processes, including welding/brazing, heat treatment, plastic injection molding and metal stamping;\nStrong experience in metal and molded plastic component design, with good knowledge of material properties and applications;\nAbility to apply product development and process improvement methodologies, including stage-gate processes, PROLaunch and DFSS tools;\nFamiliarity with electrical and dynamic simulation, with the ability to provide technical recommendations and input;\nFamiliarity with environmental requirements and related qualification testing;\nGood interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal;\nAbility to operate with minimal supervision;\nStrong teamwork and collaboration skills;\nWillingness to coach and support junior engineers;\nGood command of written and spoken English;\nAt Eaton, we don’t just want to offer you a job, but a journey and experience.
