This is a hybrid role located at our Smyrna, GA, Orlando, FL, Arden, NC, Raleigh, NC, or Charlotte, NC facility.\nWhat you’ll do:\nThe Senior Field Project Engineer supports order management through technical ownership of the order and creates a positive customer experience through a proactive approach to project support and issue resolution. This position leverages available resources to manage documentation, resolve issues, and successfully builds relationships across customers and Eaton facilities to execute complex projects and aids the Project Manager in maintaining customer satisfaction and overall, on-time-performance. This position works independently on daily tasks and collaborates with the plants, project, and sales teams as needed to maintain orders until the end of its life cycle\nIn this function you will:\nDevelop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers for assigned projects\nReview and interpret contract drawings and specifications ensuring technical accuracy\nManage technical changes to the bill of material\nCoordinate and interpret engineered-to-order drawings\nLeverage centralized resources to create and manage project documentation\nProvide technical support and follow-through to drive all warranty issues to closure\nAct as the technical liaison between customers, sales, and factories to efficiently carry out technical order configuration, documentation, and warranty resolutions.\nServe as the customer’s advocate by relaying the appropriate level of urgency to peer contacts in Eaton’s manufacturing facilities and escalating issues as required to management\nPursue continuous learning of products and applications related to engineered products\nCollaborate with the Project Management Team including Project Managers, Sales Engineers, Project Coordinators, other Project Engineers, and the Documentation Team\nLead verbal or written communication with internal and external stakeholders to address technical scope and design concerns\nProvide guidance to less senior engineers with relationships to technical and commercial execution of job duties\nQualifications:\nBasic Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution\nMinimum 3 years of work experience in project management, sales, sales support, technical role or applicable field\nEaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Candidates must currently reside within a 50-mile radius of Smyrna, GA, Orlando, FL, Arden, NC, Raleigh, NC, or Charlotte, NC to be considered.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or applicable technical field\n\nElectrical industry expertise and product knowledge\n\nPrior contractor, sales, and/or sales support experience with focus on the following customer bases: wastewater treatment, government, utility, commercial construction, data center, etc.\n\nProficiency in applications required for job function (Eaton Bid Manager, AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, customer quality management tools, ERP systems, and Microsoft O365).\n\nSkills:\nPosition Criteria:\nPossess technical sales aptitude, market knowledge, and electrical industry experience\n\nCapable of working independently and in a team environment, using strong communication and interpersonal skills\n\nAbility to establish customer relationships within the market area while maintaining and growing existing customer relationships\n\nPossess organizational, presentation, training, and planning skills\n\nUnderstand project management processes for supporting a project and take on a proactive approach in addressing open tasks or issues\n\nCapable of organizing multiple multi-million-dollar projects simultaneously throughout various phases\n\nAbility to travel 25% of the time\n\nAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
