If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the transaction closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.\nWhat you’ll do:\nPosition Overview:\nIn this role, the Test Technician is responsible for the execution of product testing, data acquisition and the reporting of component performance for Low Voltage Vehicle Controls products designed in Reynosa, MX. You will work with the internal product teams to understand testing requirements for various products. You will lead validation testing.\nIn this function you will:\nWork with a global cross-functional team to develop, launch new designs and provide sustaining support for switches, keypads, rotary encoder, and other commercial vehicle electrical products.\nParticipate in the launch of new products following the Eaton PROLaunch stage-gate process.\nConduct testing of product changes and new products in accordance with standards and customer requirements to confirm conformance.\nParticipate in Continuous Improvement programs and activities such as Cost Out, IDEAS program, VA/VE, Lean events among others.\nProvides technical support to functional areas to solve issues, find root causes, and assemble action plans.\nDefine specifications, develop, procure, and validate functional test solutions for NPI and production environment according to specification, requirements and standards of Engineering, Quality, and customer.\nCollaborate with other departments to solve issues related to software or hardware associated with test equipment\nProcure test fixtures and improvement/upgrades (CI) to existing test processes and equipment\nCollaborate with design engineering to set the number of samples, fixtures and test wire harnesses needed to complete the requested testing.\nCreate and execute design verification test plans (DVP&R & PVP&Rs) (measure voltages, currents, signals, rise/ fall times etc.). Including Environmental tests; and when it is needed make test requests for EMC/EMI, Vibration, shipping test, etc.\nCreate detailed test instructions based on test plans that will direct technicians how to carry out testing.\nParticipate in problem-solving activities, leveraging methods like 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Why.\ntimes etc.).\nSupport product builds, product launches, and production quality investigation as needed.\nReview and sign-off test setups prior to the start of testing that includes confirming proper calibration dates.\nOrganize, analyze, and summarize testing data to incorporate into test reports.\nDirect lab technician activities for test setup, execution, and reporting.\nMaintain a collaborative working relationship with various internal groups (systems, electrical and software engineering, manufacturing, supplier development and quality) and external groups (customers, suppliers, etc).\nProactively implement, promote, and maintain a safe working environment, through diligence in accident prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance and Zero Incident culture enforcement.\nSupport, communicate and reinforce the mission, values, and culture of the organization.\nApply appropriate Eaton Business System (EBS) processes and problem-solving tools.\nWhen we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we- as individuals and as a company - are stronger.\nQualifications:\nBasic Qualifications:\nMinimum of 2 years of experience in an automotive, electrical, mechanical, testing, machining, engineering environment. Co-op/Intern experience acceptable\nProficient with various software tools LabVIEW4, Python, C compilers, programming environments, programming stations\nExperience in PLC programming and troubleshooting\nBasic knowledge of automotive and serial data protocols CAN, J1939, and LIN\nBasic knowledge of GIT, Bitbucket, and GitHub\nBasic working knowledge of test equipment such as AC/DC electronic loads, AC/DC power supplies, DMMs, Keysight/NI DAQs, Oscilloscopes\nWorking with Environmental Chambers and have experience in basic maintenance of Environmental chambers.\nExperience with shock & vibration testing, ESD testing, and use of Instron type equipment for force/travel measurement.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nGood understanding of commercial vehicle markets, environmental requirements and related qualification testing required, including AIAG components (APQP, FMEA, PPAP, etc.)\nWorking knowledge of automotive serial data protocols (e.g. CAN J1939, J1587, J1708, LIN, CANopen)\nExperience troubleshooting and problem-solving skills: 8D, Fishbone\nPlanning and scheduling development testing, including designing test equipment, building test harnesses, creating test strategies for both validation and production testing, writing procedures and reports\nExperience working with PCBAs Microcontroller based product laboratory building, and testing new products\nExperience with troubleshooting test equipment and test systems\nExperience developing data acquisition and control systems using National Instruments, MATLAB\nExperience writing clear and concise test procedures and SOPs\nExcellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical, and problem-solving skills\nStrong ethics, values, as well as the ability to influence and impact others’ decision making\nWorking knowledge of automotive standards (SAE, ISO, IATF)\nPossess 90% fluency in written and spoken English #LI-MB2\nAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
