We are the engine behind eBay's engineering force, building and operating an AI-powered Internal Developer Platform (IDP) that includes continuous delivery, enterprise testing, and low-code tools. This is a true builder’s role where your solutions will directly elevate the daily experience of our engineering teams, offering a culture of high ownership, continuous learning, and innovative tools!\nWhat you will accomplish:\nBuild platform capabilities that improve how eBay engineers develop, test, and deliver software to production.\nDesign scalable backend services and REST APIs using Java or Kotlin within distributed systems.\nCreate intuitive frontend experiences with React that make developer workflows easier to use and more self-service.\nBuild Kubernetes-based capabilities that improve platform reliability while automating common engineering workflows.\nReduce friction in the development lifecycle by strengthening shared infrastructure and expanding automation.\nWork directly with engineers across eBay to understand their needs and shape new platform experiences, including applied AI capabilities.\nWhat you will bring:\nProven hands-on experience designing and building microservices and distributed systems, ideally utilizing Java and Spring Boot.\nDemonstrated frontend development experience using React to build seamless, user-friendly internal tools and platforms.\nDeep technical expertise in Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure, with a strong background in operating and scaling complex development environments.\nRobust Python scripting and automation skills, utilized specifically to enhance system reliability and eliminate manual operational overhead.\nA high-ownership, builder mindset with strong fundamentals in platform engineering, scalability, and developer productivity.\nReadiness to work in a collaborative, full-time hybrid environment, participating in standard engineering operational support and team cadences.\nThis role is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship or work authorization support. Candidates must already be authorized to work in the United States.\nAdditional Details\nThe base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:\n$98,000 - $173,600Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
