You will play a key role in defining the technical direction and evolution of our storage platform while driving engineering excellence and raising the technical bar across the organization.\nThis is a deeply hands-on engineering rolethat combines strong systems programming and coding skills with storage architecture, distributed systems expertise, and technical leadership. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable defining long-term architecture, writing production-quality code, solving complex performance and reliability problems, and guiding engineers through the design and delivery of large-scale storage systems.\nWhat You’ll Do\nArchitect and develop highly scalable block, file, and object storage systems.\n\nBuild database-aware storage optimized for PostgreSQL, relational databases, distributed databases, and other stateful workloads.\n\nUse AI coding agents to your advantage to boost productivity and lead us to the future of AI native engineering. Capable of giving the right context and detailed requirements to the Agent.\n\nDesign storage data planes and control planes for Kubernetes environments.\n\nDevelop Kubernetes-native storage integrations using CSI, operators, controllers, CRDs, and storage classes.\n\nWrite production-quality systems software in C++, Go, Rust, Java.\n\nDesign for high availability, data durability, fault tolerance, replication, recovery, snapshots, cloning, and disaster recovery.\n\nOptimize storage for IOPS, throughput, latency, tail latency, CPU efficiency, and network utilization.\n\nDebug complex problems across databases, Kubernetes, Linux, networking, and storage layers.\n\nLead architecture and design reviews and establish technical direction for storage platforms.\n\nMentor engineers while remaining deeply hands-on with architecture, design, coding, and troubleshooting.\n\nBe responsible for the outcome of the domain’s work.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\nMaster’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering.\n\n15-18 years of software engineering experience with strong expertise in storage, distributed systems, databases, or infrastructure software.\n\nDeep knowledge of storage domains: block, file, object, or database storage.\n\nStrong systems programming skills in C++, Go, Rust, Java.\n\nStrong understanding of Linux storage and I/O architecture.\n\nExperience building and operating distributed systems at scale.\n\nStrong Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure experience.\n\nUnderstanding of distributed systems concepts including replication, consensus, consistency, failure detection, data placement, and recovery.\n\nExperience with storage technologies and protocols such as NVMe, NVMe-oF, SCSI/iSCSI, UBD, S3, CSI, io_uring, SPDK, or similar technologies.\n\nAbility to lead technically while remaining a hands-on engineer who designs, codes, reviews, benchmarks, and debugs production systems.\n\nTechnical Leadership\nAs a Principal Engineer, you will help define the long-term technical direction for our storage platform.
