You will help design, develop, deploy, and operate reliable, scalable self-service platforms that support the application lifecycle for eBay’s products and services.\nThe role focuses on cloud-native technologies, particularly containers and Kubernetes, and involves close collaboration with internal customers, partners, and cross-functional teams. You will improve platform reliability, observability, performance, automation, and deployment processes across eBay’s cloud services.\nWhat you will accomplish:\nImprove the reliability, scalability, efficiency, and security compliance of cloud products that support eBay’s products and services.\nStrengthen observability across cloud services through comprehensive monitoring and alerting practices.\nRespond to cloud incidents, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and maintain incident response plans to reduce recurrence.\nAnalyze system performance and implement improvements that optimize resource utilization and application performance.\nImprove CI/CD processes to increase deployment velocity and reliability.\nDevelop and maintain automation that streamlines operations, reduces manual work, and improves system reliability.\nCollaborate with internal customers, partners, and cross-functional teams to deliver key business outcomes.\nWhat you will bring:\n3+ years of programming experience with Go or Python, alongside 3+ years of experience implementing large-scale, distributed, highly available, fault-tolerant systems and infrastructure in production environments.\nStrong experience with Kubernetes in an SRE or related cloud infrastructure role; experience developing with Kubernetes and/or building Kubernetes controllers is highly desirable.\nExperience with observability tools and practices, with a focus on improving system reliability and performance.\nStrong understanding of API design and RESTful principles, including experience building web services at scale.\nExperience delivering products in cross-functional teams; knowledge of Agile development methodologies and application lifecycle management or CI/CD is beneficial.\nExperience working in high-traffic, large-scale environments. Familiarity with additional programming languages or frameworks and participation in open-source standards or projects are beneficial.\nKubernetes, lifecycle management, or related certifications are beneficial.
