This is an opportunity to join a new team and help shape a greenfield product from the ground up.\nAbout the Team\nThe Authenticity Guarantee program helps build trust in high-value transactions by having eligible items inspected for authenticity and quality before reaching the buyer.\nOur team is building Authentication as a Service, evolving these capabilities into a scalable and reusable platform that can support experiences beyond the core eBay marketplace, starting with Depop.\nThis is a new team working on a 0→1 product, with significant opportunities to influence architecture, technology choices, and how the platform is built.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, build, test, deploy, and maintain full-stack applications, with a focus on frontend development.\nDevelop modern web experiences using React, Angular, or similar frontend frameworks.\nDesign and build backend services and RESTful APIs.\nDesign and work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.\nBuild and deploy cloud-native applications using GCP, AWS, or Azure.\nOwn complex features end-to-end, from technical design and implementation through deployment and production support.\nContribute to system design and architecture, evaluating technical approaches and trade-offs as the platform evolves.\nBuild high-quality, maintainable software and contribute to strong testing, code review, CI/CD, and production practices.\nCollaborate closely with product, UX, QE, and other engineering teams to drive technical decisions and delivery.\nUse AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity while maintaining strong code quality and review practices.\nEvaluate technologies and frameworks and help establish engineering practices for the new platform.\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers as the team grows.\nMinimum Qualifications\n6+ years of professional software engineering experience building production applications.\nStrong full-stack development experience, with significant hands-on frontend development.\nExperience with a modern frontend framework such as React, Angular, Vue.js, or similar.\nExperience designing and developing backend services and RESTful APIs.\nStrong programming skills in a backend language such as Java, Kotlin, C#, Python, Go, or similar.\nExperience designing and developing applications using relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.\nExperience developing and deploying applications in a cloud environment such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar.\nExperience contributing to system design and architectural decisions, including evaluating technical trade-offs.\nExperience independently owning technical problems from design through production.\nExperience using AI-assisted software development tools to improve developer productivity, with the ability to review and understand AI-generated code.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional engineering environment.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Java and Spring Boot.\nExperience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).\nExperience with Kafka or other event-driven technologies.\nExperience with Elasticsearch or similar search technologies.\nExperience with Kubernetes.\nExperience developing native Android applications, ideally using Kotlin.\nExperience with warehouse operations, shipping, logistics, authentication, or e-commerce.\nExperience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other engineers.\nSuccess In This Role\nA successful Senior Full Stack Software Engineer will:\nDeliver high-quality features with limited oversight.\nContribute effectively across frontend and backend development.\nOwn technical problems from design through production.\nMake meaningful contributions to architecture and technology decisions.\nThrive in a greenfield environment where requirements and architecture are still evolving.\nUse AI tools effectively to increase productivity without compromising engineering quality.\nHelp establish strong engineering practices as the team and platform grow.\nAdditional Details\nThe base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:\nC$118,000 - C$157,500Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including RRSP eligibility, various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
