The candidate is expected to drive further growth and innovation as we continue shaping the future of online beauty retail. The candidate will be a creative problem solver, passionate about the beauty industry, able to take ownership of key project workstreams with high levels of intellectual curiosity, and energized by new initiatives with a positive, hands-on attitude. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in ambiguity, brings an entrepreneurial mindset, and is able to balance strategic thinking with strong execution. Within this role, the candidate will have the ability to identify and execute cross-functional initiatives that drive business growth (including initiatives with eBay Global teams, live commerce, and other new business opportunities), refine Qoo10 operational strategy, effectively communicate with international teams in English, and deliver impactful reports and presentations.\nJob Responsibilities include:\n[Execution of Cross-Functional Initiatives]\nIdentify and execute large-scale, high-impact cross-functional initiatives that drive business growth: such as live commerce, online/offline events, and new growth opportunities in the beauty business.\n\nCollaborate with multiple stakeholders, including international teams, on new opportunities.\n\nEnhance efficiency and operational excellence across the business by introducing and aligning best practices, processes and tools.\n\nBring structure, momentum, and clear follow-through in ambiguous, fast-changing situations.\n\n[Operation Strategy Development]\nSupport development and refinement of medium-to-long-term operating strategies for priority programs.\n\nTranslate business goals into actionable roadmaps, requirements, and operational playbooks.\n\nBuild business cases and recommend tradeoffs (options, risks, dependencies, expected impact) to enable leadership decisions.\n\nPartner with stakeholders to move initiatives from idea to execution with clear ownership and milestones.\n\n[Operation Analytics]\nIdentify and analyze market trends, customer behavior, and operational challenges to diagnose issues and uncover opportunities for improvement.\n\nDrive impact by optimizing day-to-day operations, improving overall performance, and contributing to business growth.\n\nAnalyze data and industry insights, competitor landscapes to inform and support decision-making.\n\n[Market intelligence]\nDevelop insightful market intelligence about key industry trends (technology, competitors, consumers, and so on).\n\n[Reporting & communication]\nPrepare and deliver executive-level reports and presentations to Qoo10 and eBay Global leadership teams with compelling storytelling in English and Japanese.\n\nCommunicate recommendations clearly and concisely to stakeholders across different functions and seniority levels.\n\nQualification Requirements:\nBachelor's or equivalent experience or master's degree\n\n5+ years of relevant professional experience, ideally in consulting, global eCommerce/retail, beauty, business development, trading house, or similar cross-functional roles. Experience that combines strategy/planning with hands-on execution is especially valued.\n\nProven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines, ambiguity, and shifting priorities.\n\nStrong analytical skills (ability to structure problems, interpret data, and drive decision-making).\n\nStrong stakeholder management and communication skills across diverse teams and seniority levels.\n\nDemonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in diverse, cross-functional, and global teams.\n\nFluent level of English and Japanese language skill (reading, writing, speaking).\n\nBe self-driven, detail-oriented, and able to tackle complex problems in a structured and analytical way within a dynamic business environment.\n\nPositive attitude, strong sense of ownership, and willingness to take on new challenges outside one’s immediate scope.\n\nAble to build trust quickly and collaborate effectively in a multicultural, matrixed team environment.\n\nStrong working knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets and slides (PowerPoint/Google Slides) for executive reporting\n\nPreferred qualifications:\nUnderstanding of corporate finance and/or statistical analytics.\n\nExperience in live commerce, social commerce, marketplace businesses, or launching new initiatives is a plus.\n\nAdditional Details\neBay is an equal opportunity employer.
