This role ensures that our electrical designs are clear, scalable, and well-integrated, both for current products and future generations. The Senior Manager leads junior and senior technical staff, sets system architecture direction, and works closely with Firmware, Software, Mechanical, Program Management, Product Support, and Quality/Regulatory.\nThe role balances delivering today's products with building a strong technical foundation for the future.\nESSENTIAL AND OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nEssential Duties\nTeam Leadership and Talent Development\nProvide leadership for electrical engineering (EE) team, including junior engineers and senior technical leaders.\nScale EE capability through delegation, architectural empowerment, and modern engineering practices.\nMaintain technical engagement to inform leadership decisions without becoming a bottleneck to execution.\nIdentify and prioritize technical debt in EE domain.\nAlign EE DDF/DHF with lean QMSR expectations under ISO13485.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nPartner with systems and firmware development to define system partitioning and interface boundaries.\nResolve cross-domain technical trade-offs in collaboration with firmware, software, and mechanical engineering.\nManage projects to ensure architectural risks and trade-offs are visible in program plans and by key cross-functional stakeholders.\nEngage with Sustaining Engineering to ensure field learnings inform future electrical architecture.\nSupport Sr. Directors in R&D in architectural resolution when system-level decisions impact product strategy.\nOther Duties and Responsibilities\nOther duties as assigned. \nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nDirectly manages technicians, junior engineers and senior technical leaders within electrical engineering.\nIndirectly leads multidisciplinary engineering teams through architectural leadership and technical governance.\nResponsible for performance management, talent development, and team scaling within EE domain.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nEducation and Required Experience:\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field required.\nMinimum of 8 years of experience in electrical or firmware engineering.\nMinimum of 3 years of experience directly managing engineering teams.\nExperience defining and governing system architecture in complex embedded hardware-software products.\nExperience working in regulated product development environments (medical device experience preferred).\nEquivalent combinations of education and professional experience will be considered.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nDeep understanding of system architecture across electrical and firmware domains.\nAbility to balance long-term technical strategy with near-term execution realities.\nStrong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.\nExperience with common platform-based architectures and multi-generation technology roadmaps.\nKnowledge of ISO 13485, QMSR, design controls, and risk management frameworks preferred.\nStrong ability to evaluate technical trade-offs and guide architectural decision-making.\nStrong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to scale teams and develop technical leaders.\nStrong cross-functional and executive communication skills.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility and willingness to travel domestically (2-5 trips per year) and internationally (1-2 trips per year), which may include overnight and weekend travel.\n· Required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.\nRequired to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 20 pounds.\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.\nSubject to extended periods of sitting and/or standing, vision to monitor, and moderate noise levels.\nSalary Range $194,000 - $235,000 *\n*Base pay is one part of your total compensation. The salary offered will depend on several factors, including, but not limited to your experience, knowledge, skills, location, internal equity, and market alignment.
