We encourage innovation and movement, collaboration and problem-solving, and foster an environment where everyone can feel they belong, are valued, supported and empowered to succeed.\nIf you’re a collaborator who wants to help transform how businesses operate globally, get in touch - we’d love to discuss how Ebury can accelerate your career so you can shape the future.\nCompliance Officer & DMLRO\nCompliance\nEbury Singapore Office - Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home per week\nThe main purpose of this role is to assist in maintaining the integrity and compliance of the country branch, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, reporting obligations and maintaining an open, transparent and effective relationship with our regulators within the country.\nWhat you’ll do\nHold the role of the Money Laundering Reporting Officer for the country branch.\nDrafting and updating local policies and procedures, while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.\nAssist with reporting obligations and ensure compliance with statutory deadlines (including but not limited to AML Reports, Payments Reports, etc.).\nHandle connection to authorities regulatory portals.\nLiaise with regulatory bodies, ensuring effective and smooth communication.\nDevelop and maintain relevant parts of the compliance framework (AML/CFT and Regulatory Policies).\nLiaise closely with the Group Compliance (London) to ensure that compliance policies and procedures are consistent with company policy.\nHelp improving the operational compliance processes based on the local policies (liaise with the MLROs and local ops teams).\nProvide ongoing training about the products and ensure the sales team is continuously monitored for the regulated activities.\nKeep abreast of ordinances/circulars/recommendations from the Regulator and continuously ensure that the Entity’s policies and procedures adhere to these.\nAudit the first line of defence procedures and processes.\nAssist with external AML audits.\nProvide advice on High Risk clients/escalations and SARs.\nAssist with ad-hoc queries from the business teams.\nAttend regulatory forums and industry meetings to keep up to date with industry standards.\nDesirable to have experience dealing with the country regulators/national bank.\nIn addition, this role will assist with the implementation of policies and procedures and keeping them up to date when needed, as well as supporting our training and development program.\nWe are looking for a self-driven Compliance Officer with at least 4-5 years of relevant experience within the financial industry in the country.\nSolid knowledge in regulatory (PSD2, MIFID2, etc) and AML compliance and the ability to take ownership of parts of a Compliance framework in a fast-paced Fintech environment.\nThe person must demonstrate proven organisational and time management skills, have excellent communications skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to gain credibility fast and influence key stakeholders. The working environment is fast paced, agile and highly results orientated so the individual must be comfortable working within this type of highly rewarding, dynamic environment.\nIn addition, the individual must be comfortable with working autonomously, have relevant Compliance/Legal qualifications and a good level of commercial awareness. It will be pivotal to have good interpersonal skills to interact with the local regulatory bodies.\nProficiency in English and local language is required.\nAny professional certifications or a law/economics degree will be considered a plus.\nWhat you’ll need\nPrevious experience as a Compliance Officer and MLRO (being two different roles). As the candidate will manage all compliance matters of the branch, this aspect is essential.Regulatory matters (preferably payment services, e-money), governance, regulatory reporting.\nFinancial crime (high risk escalations, SARs, risk assessments, etc).\n\nPrevious experience in a high pace/demanding fintech environment.\n Exposure to derivative products under the Capital Markets Services (CMS) framework is highly advantageous.\nAbility to adapt to digital processes and tools, including Google Suite.\nMain point of contact for compliance matters; Management, Regulatory Authorities, Front Office and other Company departments.\nLaw degree.
