Ebury is a financial services company founded in London in 2009 that provides cross-border payments, currency risk management and lending to small and medium-sized businesses trading internationally. Its position is the gap between banks, which serve large corporates properly and smaller ones poorly, and consumer transfer services that cannot handle hedging or trade finance. Headquartered in London and majority owned by Banco Santander since 2019, it holds payment licences across many jurisdictions and has grown through acquisitions in Latin America and continental Europe.

Ebury helps ambitious businesses unlock global growth, and we take the same approach with our people. We encourage innovation and movement, collaboration and problem-solving, and foster an environment where everyone can feel they belong, are valued, supported and empowered to succeed.

If you’re a collaborator who wants to help transform how businesses operate globally, get in touch - we’d love to discuss how Ebury can accelerate your career so you can shape the future.

Senior Manager - Financial Consolidation & FX Risk (CTA & Treasury Expert)

Treasury

Ebury London Office - Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home per week

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager of Financial Consolidation & FX Risk to lead internal multi-currency consolidations, foreign currency accounting (CTA), and treasury FX strategies. You will manage complex close operations across legal entities and subsidiaries in multiple parts of the world while hedging and accounting for a broad portfolio of derivatives that back our multi-currency products. We are open to hiring either a permanent team member to drive long-term function capability or an interim contractor to lead dedicated process improvement and transformation initiatives.

What you’ll do

  • CTA & FX Accounting Frameworks: Direct global foreign currency translation (CTA), remeasurement, and intercompany accounting across international legal entities in full compliance with IFRS (IAS 21).
  • Global Consolidations: Lead complex multi-currency monthly close operations for subsidiaries across multiple parts of the world, driving intercompany eliminations, equity reconciliations, and CTA movement roll-forwards.
  • Treasury & FX Risk Strategy: Partner with Treasury to design, execute, and monitor balance sheet and cash flow hedging strategies across an extensive portfolio of derivatives (forwards, swaps, options) to safeguard our multi-currency products under IFRS 9.
  • Systems Integration & PM:  Drive finance and treasury transformation initiatives, including ERP (NetSuite) and Treasury Management System (TMS) enhancements to automate FX exposure tracking and valuation gains/losses.
  • Intercompany & Capital Structure:  Advise on international intercompany financing, net investment hedging strategies, and settlement timing to eliminate P&L volatility.
  • Executive Reporting:  Deliver insightful foreign exchange analyses and project updates to board members, audit committees, and executive leadership teams.

What you’ll need

  • Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience in global financial consolidation, FX accounting, and treasury management. Proven background managing subsidiaries from multiple parts of the world to consolidate, handling complex multi-currency products, and overseeing a comprehensive portfolio of derivatives within a multinational fintech, financial institution, or Big 4 environment.
  • Technical Mastery: Deep technical knowledge of IFRS, specifically IAS 21 (Effects of Changes in Foreign Exchange Rates) and IFRS 9 (Financial Instruments & Hedge Accounting).
  • Systems Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with ERP (NetSuite) and Treasury Management Systems (TMS).
  • Project & Change Leadership: Proven ability to manage complex multi-currency accounting processes or lead system change management initiatives.
  • Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; ACCA, ACA, CPA, CTP, or PMP designation preferred.
  • Flexible Engagement: Open to Permanent Full-Time or Interim/Contract.
