Placement within Levels I-IV is based on experience, expertise, leadership, independence, and organizational impact.\nResponsibilities\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nDevelop and improve analytical methods supporting forecasting, budgeting, resource evaluation, operational analysis, and strategic decisions.\nCreate and maintain SQL queries, views, stored procedures, analytical datasets, and reporting structures.\nIndependently extract, transform, validate, analyze, and interpret large datasets from multiple sources.\nDesign and maintain Power BI dashboards, semantic models, DAX measures, and paginated reports.\nPerform variance, sensitivity, scenario, regression, statistical, and trend analyses to explain results and quantify risk.\nAutomate recurring analytical and reporting processes to improve efficiency, consistency, controls, and documentation.\nAnalyze power supply alternatives, market and fuel trends, load growth, cost drivers, and strategic opportunities.\nEvaluate financial, operational, and business impacts of resource options, supplier opportunities, and other alternatives.\nWork with subject matter experts to define requirements, validate assumptions, and translate results into practical recommendations.\nModernize legacy processes, standardize repeatable workflows, and reduce reliance on manual spreadsheet-based analysis.\nDocument methodologies, assumptions, data sources, business rules, and validation steps.\nServe as a technical resource for analytics, forecasting, reporting, automation, and data-driven problem solving.\nLevel Progression:\nSenior Analyst I: Performs analytical assignments with guidance and develops proficiency in CEI processes, SQL, Power BI, forecasting, and data validation.\nSenior Analyst II: Independently completes complex analyses, develops reporting and automation solutions, and provides recommendations to management and stakeholders.\nSenior Analyst III: Leads complex analytical projects, designs scalable solutions, serves as a subject matter expert, and mentors analysts and business users.\nSenior Analyst IV: Leads enterprise analytical and modernization initiatives, establishes methods and standards, advises leadership, and influences strategic decisions.\nQualifications\nRequired Skills and Abilities:\nAdvanced SQL skills, including complex queries, joins, common table expressions, window functions, views, stored procedures, and analytical dataset creation.\nExperience developing Power BI solutions, including dashboards, semantic models, DAX measures, and paginated reports.\nStrong quantitative, statistical, forecasting, variance-analysis, data-validation, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to independently analyze large datasets and convert complex results into clear business recommendations.\nDemonstrated ability to automate processes, strengthen analytical controls, and implement maintainable solutions.\nStrong communication, presentation, organization, critical-thinking, and time-management skills.\nDesired Skills and Experience:\nExperience with Python, R, or another analytical programming language.\nExperience with predictive analytics, regression, statistical forecasting, scenario modeling, simulation, or optimization.\nFamiliarity with automated reporting, enterprise business intelligence, ETL, SSIS, cloud analytics, APIs, VBA, or data integration technologies.\nExperience in utility operations, energy markets, finance, operations, consulting, or another analytical environment is beneficial but not required.\nEducation and Work Experience:\nBachelor's degree preferred in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Business Analytics, Finance, or another quantitative or analytical discipline. Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and demonstrated technical capability may be considered.\nSenior Analyst I: Generally, five or more years of relevant analytical experience.\nSenior Analyst II: Generally, seven or more years of relevant experience with demonstrated independence in complex analysis and solution development.\nSenior Analyst III: Generally, ten or more years of relevant experience with demonstrated leadership of complex analytical initiatives.\nSenior Analyst IV: Demonstrated expert-level capability and the ability to lead enterprise solutions and influence strategic decisions.
