We're building the AI-native future of ServiceNow delivery - with more enterprise platforms on the roadmap!\nThe Role\nThe role\nThis is our founding AI infrastructure hire - a rare chance to define what AI infrastructure means at Echelon from the ground up. You won't be stepping into an existing playbook; you'll be writing it. You'll own how we architect, scale, and operate the systems our agents run on, set the standard for our infrastructure practices, and shape the function as the company scales.\nWhat you'll do\nOperate the platform:\nRun Echelon across every region we serve, with full visibility into deployment state across environments\n\nOwn alerting, monitoring, and observability so issues get caught early and resolved fast\n\nEvolve our multi-tenant architecture as we land larger enterprises and enter new geographies\n\nBuild leverage for the team:\nShip internal tooling that makes engineers, CS, and Sales meaningfully faster\n\nDesign access flows that are auditable, time-bound, and frictionless\n\nTreat AI as a first-class part of every tool you build, including MCP servers, agent-driven workflows, and Slack-native interfaces\n\nMake data accessible:\nSurface usage and customer health where the team already works\n\nBuild pipelines that put answers in front of people instead of behind a query\n\nKeep us compliant and audit-ready:\nPartner with our CISO to address findings proactively across every environment and region, treating compliance as a continuous loop, not an annual scramble\n\nDrive the architectural work that ladders us up to enterprise certifications, including FedRAMP\n\nWho you are\nWe're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements below. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.\nMinimum requirements\nInfrastructure-native: you've built and operated multi-region, multi-tenant systems on AWS, and Lambda, gateways, IAM, and observability are second nature\n\nTooling-obsessed: you've built internal tools that gave a team real leverage, and you can spot a manual process begging to be automated\n\nAI-fluent: Claude, Cursor, MCP servers, and agentic workflows are part of how you build, and you reach for AI before you reach for a manual fix\n\nSecurity-minded: you think about auditability, access control, and compliance as features, not chores\n\nSystems thinker: you debug across the stack, from networking and identity to deployment pipelines and flaky alerts at 2am\n\nOutcome-driven: you measure success in team velocity, customer reliability, and clean audits, not lines of Terraform\n\nStrong production infrastructure or platform engineering experience, with comfort operating across ops, internal tooling, and compliance under one hat, and a bias toward fast, instrumented iteration\n\nPreferred qualifications\nSOC 2, ISO 27001, or FedRAMP exposure\n\nStartup or fast-paced environment experience\n\nWhy Echelon is the right move\nFounding ownership: Architect and own the platform layer end-to-end.
